Random Thoughts and Rants (#2 - Feb 26, 2013)

Apparently, it is an OKAY thing, to sell privileges to attend special WH meetings. Yep! For a mere donation of $500,000, you can sit in on a national advisory board for Mr. Obama’s group and have the privilege of attending quarterly meetings with the president, along with other meetings at the White House. HEY, but WAIT!!! Next month they are having a “Special”. For only $50,000, Our Community-Organizer-In-Chief is holding a “founder’s summit” at a hotel near the White House, where you have the opportunity to mingle with Mr. Obama’s former campaign manager, Jim Messina, and Mr. Carson, who previously led the White House Office of Public Engagement.

Now, THIS is exactly what Obama supposedly campaigned against back in 2008. I could go on and on…but, I am keeping this brief, perhaps this is hub all on its own.

You know, I think the power of prayer is WAY under-estimated!

I think home-made Chicken and Noodle and mashed potatoes may be my very favorite meal. Throw in some fresh green beans and a dinner roll, along with some apple pie!! WOW!

Have any of you been watching the “Walking Dead” on AMC? Holy Cow! What an intense Drama THAT is!! It may sound pretty goofy, but there is GREAT acting, GREAT writing and GREAT, GREAT make-up and special effects. It is based upon a comic book, but they really pull it off to make it about as realistic as it can be with the world being dominated by flesh-eating "walkers".

It had 12.3 million viewers for its mid-season three premiere to become the most-watched basic cable drama telecast in history.

Speaking of goofy…………I still have a hard time believing that NY Cities Mayor Goldberg has REALLY got a BAN on LARGE Sodas in pizza shops, bowling alleys, and Manhattan nightclubs effective March 12th!! I mean THAT is not just goofy, but it is really kind of scary when governments can dictate what size of soda you can drink……….WOW! Liberalism at its finest.

With all of the crazy weather, like the blizzards in Texas, hurricanes in Jersey. The Pope stepping down, the turmoil in the Middle East, meteors crashing into earth………….I think I am ready to go out on a limb and say with conviction that the THIS my friend is the YEAR the Cubbies are going to win it all!!!

Cubs WIN, Cubs WIN, Cubs WIN…….

Okay, maybe not…….but wait till next year!!

To wrap up my segment, I got to say just how much I miss Dusty – 50 caliber – Tibbs. He has been on my mind lately. If you never had the privilege to get to know this guy, please go to his hub and check out his work. Dusty has moved on to be with his Lord and Savior. (Actually it has been a few months now) He was such a unique person, who had a heart as big as the whole outdoors. I was lucky enough to have shared some personal emails with Dusty over the last couple of years, and considered him a good friend. RIP Dusty!
