Random thoughts and rants (My first edition)

Updated on May 21, 2015
One tired Pope

Pope resigning...

I’m not sure why exactly it is a big deal that the Pope is resigning. I think retiring is a better word for it. I realize it has been like 600 years since a pope has taken such a measure, but REALLY it seems to me like the guy is being practical. He is 86 years old for gosh sakes! He said he is TIRED. Why not step down and let a younger, healthier fella give the popehood a go? I realize it is not steel work or high-voltage work being done, but there is a great responsibility at task. Millions and Millions of Catholics are depending on his leadership. I say good for him!

Squeeze the trigger, don't pull.

Gun Control...

Another thought…..Gun Control – The only gun control that we should be worried about is, actuallyteaching gun control.....That all that use them to use both hands, to squeeze the trigger, to know how to properly use the safety, to never point it at anything other than your target. That is about as far a gun control as there should be....REAL GUN CONTROL.

Maybe, just maybe, we should focus on Psycho Control. We have millions and millions of psycho’s running the streets on a daily basis. Maybe we should spend some time on “controlling” these folks from going all postal on innocent lives.

shhhhh. Maybe nobody heard me say that one.

Okay, I have a small random rant……..

A few months after Obama took office he told us all the following…"I want you all to know, I will not rest until anybody who's looking for a job can find one -- and I'm not talking about just any job, but good jobs that give every American decent wages and decent benefits and a fair shot at the American Dream,"

Well not that I am counting but, here we are, FOUR years later (1246 days to be exact), and unemployment is higher NOW than it was when he made that statement. Also, he HAS rested! Much to my chagrin, he has taken nearly 2 months of vacation time. That is not counting the fact that he has played 100 rounds of GOLF! (This was, as of June of 2012, so it is much higher than that by now). That is FOUR times as many rounds of golf that Bush played in his EIGHT years of POTUS.

Now, I’m not saying that he may not deserve some time off, but it was HIS words, not mine. I think he IS resting, and he may NOT really be trying all that hard to get us those great jobs he promised. Just another thought to add, Bush CUT taxes…and our unemployment was at 4.2%....So, raising taxes on Americans may not be the ticket to earning some well-deserved rest….just sayin.

This chick has it going on!

Now, moving on to the lighter side of my randomness….with a few thoughts

Is Carrie Underwood amazing or what? This girl, just a few short years ago was working at a dentist’s office. She was talked into trying out for American Idol. Now she has won 16 Billboard Music Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 11 CMA Awards and a two time Entertainer of the Year Award winner in the CMA’s. It goes on and on.

She can sing with AreoSmiths Steven Tyler, then do a perfect rendition of “How great thou art”. ( take a few minutes sometime and google this) She is about a beautiful as a young lady can get. She has a wonderful sense of humor and comedic timing as she cuts around with Brad Paisley on hosting duties for the CMA awards. She has earned over $66 million dollars with her singing talents.

Anyway, just a random thought or two about this gal….

Be on the lookout...

Also, how about the where-abouts of fellow hubber Feenix. Word is, that he is doing well, and may make a return here someday….but for those of you who follow on a regular basis, I for one, really miss that guy. I loved his hubs and the way he interacted.….just thought I would randomly pass that along.

Okay, enough for now, until I get my next urge to ramble on and on about random things.

God bless and see you on a hubpage soon.

Chris
