Recording Artist from South Africa Wins En Sound Music Award
Visiting the United States for the first time, C Sharp received the award for Best Foreign Performance at the “En Sound Music Awards”. The award show took place on July 29th in Decatur Georgia.
Like so many other talented artists, C Sharp began singing in church as a child. He was just four years old when he began. Setjhaba who has become more commonly known as
C Sharp says he was mainly inspired as a child by his grandfather, who taught him to always sing a song when he felt discouraged. His grandfather is also the one who thought of the name C Sharp.
.As a Child he remembers always singing, and even winning several competitions. He grew up learning to express what was in his heart through music and song. Today C sharp is often referred to as a singer/songwriter of love and peace, and his CD is fittingly titled “Love and Hope”.C sharp likes to sing Gospel as well as R&B, Soul and African music. But whatever the style of music, his message is always positive.
The Day after the award show C Sharp was interviewed on the BlogTalk Radio show “The DrCal Hour of Insight" During the interview he expressed how grateful he was to be in The United states and how humbled he felt about winning the award. He also shared more about how God has inspired him to share his music with the world.
The En Sound Music Awards is the most recognized Indie Gospel Music Award show of its kind. This year the event was hosted by Gerard Henry. Trophies were presented in 22 categories.
C Sharp, who was nominated in two categories, won the award for Best Foreign Performance for his song “Behold” which he also performed at the award show.
