Review: Before We Go (2014)

One night can change your whole life.

Coming from a first time director, I really enjoyed this. It was a sweet, gentle night to watch two strangers become friends in a series of hours. If you're like me and right off the bat, within maybe 5 seconds of meeting the two leads of a romantic film, your mind immediately stamps them as being a couple by the end of it. But I honestly didn't feel that instant stereotyping click in my brain, and I found it very refreshing. Just watching them have a grand adventure and become each others soulmate for a night was very magical. Beautiful music. I loved the cinematography especially, if you notice, whenever they are together in a big space with other people or alone, the background behind them is very blurred so the focus is really on just them and whenever they were out in the night life with the millions of blurred lights, it's an amazing sight. When I say soulmates, I mean in the sense of different people coming into (and out of) your life and changing you a little bit of a time, helping you to figure out what you want to do, who you want to be; and they may not stay but you'll never forget them. Thank them while they're with you. That's what I got from this movie.
