Best Romantic Songs of Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan - The Chocolate Boy
Aamir Khan has always been my most favorite hero. I love how he carries out any role with extreme ease. He excels in any part he takes -- be it the role of an action hero (look at Ghajini!) or that of the cute, chocolate boy (as shown in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak). He can you make you laugh your head off (remember Andaz Apna Apna?) or he can make you cry oodles of tears in a meaningful film (Taare Zameen Par). Now he has taken over the idiot box every Sunday morning with his exceptional TV show - Satyamev Jayate. The only complaint his fans have of him is that he works on only one film at a time. We are always eager to watch more of his histrionics on-screen but the man has other ideas.
His romantic songs are a class apart. You can feel the love flowing in the best of his romantic songs and even today my heart skips a beat whenever I hear them during a rainy day. They have that magic!
This page is dedicated to these romantic songs of Aamir Khan. If you are a fan of Aamir Khan as well, sit back and enjoy the lovely songs. I have tried to include songs with English subtitles so that people who do no understand Hindi are able to enjoy the song as well.
P.S: In some videos you might have to click on CC to enable the English subtitles. Unfortunately, I couldn't find videos with English subtitles for some of the songs. Nevertheless I'm putting them up because I feel these are songs of Aamir's that cannot be skipped!
Guzarish - Ghajini
This song is a dream sequence in which the male lead (played by Aamir Khan) is shown thinking of the lady he met recently in his life. He is charmed by her vibrant nature, the innocent way she deals with her everyday routines, her "real" persona. Ghajini was more of an action film than a romantic film which showed how good Aamir was at action roles apart from his usual lovey-dovey ones. He underwent intense training to look his part.

Chand Sifarish - Fanaa
Fanaa is an out and out romantic film which shows the female lead completely besotted by a tourist guide. He disappears one fine day leaving her alone with their newborn. His real identity is revealed later on during the film. I love how the romance is depicted in this movie. In the song 'Chand Sifarish' the male lead played by Aamir Khan is shown flirting with the girl (who is blind) and is slowly won over by her charm and her positive attitude towards life.

O Re Chori - Lagaan
Lagaan is a treat to watch. The film is set during the time of British rule in India. O re chori shows the male lead played by Aamir Khan and the female lead declaring their love for each other. It also shows how a British lady is slowly falling for the Indian man and dreams of spending her lifetime with him. When the British challenge the villagers to a game of cricket, it is the British lady who helps him and his team out in understanding the game. Lagaan was a blockbuster and the intense cricket sessions & competitions made it a nail-biting thriller.

Jaane Kyun - Dil Chahta Hai
Dil Chahta Hai was a cult film at its time. The movie depicted characters which the young Indian crowd could identify with. They weren't people who cracked overtly sentimental dialogues as seen in most Hindi movies till then. In contrast, they were cool, they spoke the modern lingo and did modern things. Aamir Khan played a character who believed in enjoying life to the fullest, someone who didn't believe in love as such. A girl who he meets at a party changes all that gradually. I love how it's not a case of love at first sight. Love grows gradually between the two as they spend more time together. The other side of the story is that the girl is already engaged to be married to another man - a volatile, possessive person who doesn't like her spending too much time with the new friend in her life. Jaane Kyun is almost like a dialogue delivery between the lead characters rather than a song. The girl believes love is a fascinating experience whereas the guy seems to think otherwise and they convey these thoughts through the song.

Is Deewane Ladko Ko - Sarfarosh
I'm more of a fan of fun, sweet, romantic numbers rather than the extremely slow ones and I particularly like this one for that very reason. Aamir Khan plays an officer in this action packed film and Sonali Bendre is trying her best to make him understand that she has fallen for him. The male character makes all funny excuses and tries to ignore the real meaning behind her words. Finally in the song he admits that he has been simply pulling her leg all this while and he too feels the same way for her.
Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein - Raja Hindustani
Aaye ho meri zindagi mein is definitely one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard. Here the hero mentions a girl's entry into his life and how she transformed his world for the better thereafter. How his empty life got changed completely and is now colorful as ever all because of this girl. Aamir Khan plays the role of a simple, taxi driver whereas Karisma Kapoor is the daughter of a wealthy businessman based in London. They are from two different worlds but their minds unite after several days of interaction and fun-filled days in India. This song also has a female version which is as beautiful as the one shown here.
Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya - Akele Hum Akele Tum
Akele hum akele tum didn't do too well at the box office but the songs were a craze. Especially this romantic number. Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala play singers in the movie. At a point in the movie, the male character develops an inferiority complex because his wife seems to be getting better singing offers from the industry. This causes a rift between the two and they start living separately. The song 'Raja ko rani se' shows the both of them during their lovey-dovey days.
Kya Kare Kya Na Kare - Rangeela
This cute song is all about how the guy finds it difficult to express his love for the girl. They are the best of friends but the guy being a typical vagabond thinks he might just not be suitable enough for the classy and well-read girl. Rangeela was a super-hit and A.R. Rahman's music in the movie was a treat for the ears which catered to the global Indian's taste.

Yeh Raat Aur Yeh Duri - Andaaz Apna Apna
Andaaz Apna Apna is one of my most favorite of all Aamir Khan films. The slapstick comedy might not cater to the intellectuals but if you want to have some good fun while watching this film, then leave your brains behind! Aamir Khan and Salman Khan play characters who are out to woo a wealthy beautiful girl who has landed in India from London. The song Raat Aur Yeh Duri shows off their cutesy antics and how they are trying to win over the lady's heart by means which charm her the most -- in this case, music. Salman Khan seems to be attracting the wrong person though (played by Karisma Kapoor) through his creative talents, and he seems to realize this only by the end of the song. Aamir Khan on the other hand has already won over the lady in question.

Bin Saajan Jhula Jhuloon - Damini
Aamir Khan as an item boy! He makes a guest appearance in the film Damini (only for a song). I love this number as well as his super cute dance moves so I just had to include it to this list.
Kash Koi Ladka - Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke
Aamir Khan plays a serious, dull uncle to 3 children in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. How Juhi Chawla enters their lives and wins over the kids and Aamir Khan forms the storyline. She brings joy to their hearts and makes Aamir Khan know the importance of tact and how it's important to be childish sometimes to win over a kid's heart. Kash Koi Ladka shows the girl completely smitten over by the guy and sings about how she wants 'someone' to fall head over heels in love with her (hinting at the boy).
Pehla Nasha - Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander
This song was a super duper hit during its time. Pehla Nasha is still loved by many because of its lilting music and the cute picturization. The song is all about love. The video starts with the guy running to his best friend to tell her some important news, that he's in love. The girl assumes that he is in love with her whereas the truth is something else altogether. He longs for a girl who is in a totally different league than his own. Aamir Khan plays the chocolate boy lover in the movie and Ayesha Julka plays his best friend. The gorgeous seductress who studies at a nearby posh college is enacted by Pooja Bedi. The film is filled with carefree moments at first which later heats up due to inter-collegiate competitions. The cycling competition at the end of the film is one of the best scenes ever of Aamir's - energy packed, an edge of your seat thrilling experience.

Phoolon Ke Is Shehar Mein - Parampara
Parampara wasn't exactly one of Aamir's best work, but I particularly like this song of his. There's no story behind this song -- only the guy and girl expressing their love for each other.
Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahi - Title Song
How I love the picturization of this song! It shows how two people are completely in love with each other but are hesitant to reveal it. It is a very simple song but its simplicity is what sets it apart. Where do you get to see such simple, innocent songs nowadays?

Ghazab Ka Hai Din - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
This is Aamir Khan's debut film. It's a classic poor boy meets rich girl love story. Seeing their background differences, the boy tries to ignore the girl inspite of loving her wholeheartedly. The girl on the other hand throws all caution to the winds and openly admits to having loads of affection for the guy. By the end of the song, the boy gives in and they embark on their romantic journey together. QSQT doesn't boast of a happy ending like most Hindi movies. It leaves a bittersweet impression in the viewer's mind. This might explain why the movie became so popular -- because it reflected love stories in real life which may not always end in a happily ever after.
