I have seen the mornin' burnin' golden on the mountains in the sky... and Lovin' HIM is Easy! Kris Kristofferson came to see me again. At 80, he's still burning up the highways!

Comin' close together with a feelin' that I've never known before in my time...

.... I don't know the answer to the easy way she opened every door in my mind...

— Kris Kristofferson

Lovin' Me Was Easier (well, that's what I wrote down)... was just before intermission.

And, yes, it was Heavenly. Nancy and I were in the first row of the 2nd Balcony. We might as well been on the roof! That is, up until intermission, Since the lower floor wasn't completely filled, we went down and sat next to Maxi for the rest of the show!

I don't know how to tell a story...

As usual, I've started in the middle again.

Geeze, we had the tickets for 5 months.

Coming to Columbus

When I heard Kris was coming to Columbus again, I just about fell over. His coming to see me ONCE was nothing short of incredible... but here he was, gonna do it again.

This man is 80 years old. Gonna be 81 next month... but he's like the Energizer Bunny. He's everywhere!

May 17, 2017 was the date. It was the middle of December. I'd gotten a little extra money working a precinct for the election in November... So, I got the best of the cheap seats. First row of the second balcony. Yes, that was heaven.

I'd already gotten my Cleanest Dirty Shirt for myself as a Birthday present.

Kris Collage Shirt

In March, I found this shirt on eBay... and I HAD to have it. I wore it when I met Nancy, on April 26. We went down to the area of the theatre and went to lunch at a little bar and restaurant, called The Little Palace, thinking maybe everyone would like to meet somewhere like that before the concert. Well, that ended up being poo pawed. Nobody wanted to walk 2 1/2 blocks (well, me, neither!), and were not going to move their car once they checked into the hotel. But we each enjoyed their meat ball sandwich and shared an order of Brussels Sprouts, that were out of this world delicious!

Nancy took this picture outside of the Westin Hotel and it has graced my facebook page Cover ever since, up to the concert, when I put up a group picture of 'us' afterwards.

Of the 7 concerts we have been to, I think last night at The Southern Theatre in Columbus Ohio , was possibly THE BEST! It was just the perfect venue for our hero. The crowd loved him, and he loved them back. The entire place gave him a standing ovation, and righteously so. MAGIC.

Southern Theatre - Columbus, OH

It was wonderful. Place was beautiful inside, and we started out in the balcony and ended up down close, Meeting Everyone was awesome, and did I mention that it was wonderful !

Heaven

This is about where we were...

This is about what our view was...

The Westin, which houses the Southern Theatre

The Westin Hotel is another sight to see. The theatre is only a small corner of the building, that was built over 100 years ago.

Diane and Carter from West Virginia stayed there, as well as Annmarie and Mary from New Jersey.

Did I mention Maxi?

Well, that stud muffin snuck out and got a picture with Kris!

I'd been out there and had a picture taken with Maxi behind the bus. If I'd have stayed with him, I'd have gotten in the picture!

But Maxi had a gimmick

See Maxi's shirt front? Below KRISTOFFERSON it sez.

"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." ~ William Blake

Maxi knew of Kris' fondness for Blake, especially this quote, and that he had named his youngest son, Blake.

And Maxi had a shirt made for Kris...

Shipwrecked In The Eighties

You see Kris walk out on stage...
and THIS is what he blows your mind with! (I half expected that WHOOOO....)

Instead of 'Thank You!' when it was over, Kris resounded, 'Well, Hello, Columbus!'

Of course, the crowd went wild!

It was one song after another until Lovin' Her Was Easier. You've seen the set list...

This is my All Time Favorite Song... of any singer or genre`... I gave up I Can't Stop Loving You for this one! Now, I love a lot of music, but none has ever compared to this one for me.

Lovin' Her Was Easier

Maybe...

Just Maybe...

INTERMISSION

Nancy and I went downstairs looking for her Mother and Hubby.... Norma and Hal. We met Angel and her hubby, Jim, who nailed a gig selling Kris CD's at the entrance to the theatre.

I got to meet Norma who I had spoke to on the phone when they were coming to the theatre, lost in traffic... Nancy is hearing impaired so she asked me to speak to her Mother because she couldn't get a text response. They weren't far away so we had gone up to (heaven), our 2nd balcony seats, leaving their tickets with reps at the door. Now, at intermission, I went down and got Maxi to drag him up to meet them all, Nancy and I ended up sitting with him about 8th row... for the rest of the concert. We really lucked out there because I heard someone say the theatre was 95% sold out.

And we could sure tell that from the crowd responses... many standing ovations, and a MASSIVE ONE after Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends!

'

Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends

None of us

wanted THIS story to end... but we knew it must... after 27 songs by our Hero!

We congregated back in the lobby of the Westin for this picture... all but Angel and Jim.

I imagine they were selling more Kris CD's to the patrons leaving the concert!

Just LOOK at these smiles!
