Shania Twain

Shania Twain has been MIA for quite a while now. She has not released an album since 2002 and has not appeared on TV since splitting with her husband Mutt Lange. But here she is making a come back at the 2008 Country Music Awards. She presented the award for the entertainer of the year but did not perform.  

Shania Twain is a Canadian born Country Music Song Writer And Singer. She has also crossed over into Pop. Her third album " Come On Over " was the best selling album by a female musician ever and the best selling country music album ever in the history of Country Music. Did you know that Shania Twain is the only female artist to have three albums certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. She has received five Grammy Awards and to date has sold over 77 million records world wide.

Shania Twain was born in Windsor Ontario. At age 13 when she was known as Eilleen Twain she was invited to appear and perform on CBC Tommy Hunters Show. Her mother and father were killed in an automobile accident when Shania was 22 and she put her music career on hold to take care of her family. It was in 1993 that Shania finally signed with Mercury Nashville Records and the rest is history.  

While in High School Shania Twain worked the counter at a local McDonalds and she said it was there she learned the true meaning of service.

In 2007 Shania was ranked number 56 in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World.

The name Shania means " I'm On My Way "

Shania had only 18 people at her wedding. It was a very small gathering of family and just a few friends.

Shania currently lives on a Sheep Ranch she owns in New Zealand.

Her favorite song is " Yesterday " by the Beetles.

She laughs and says her favorite exercise is a fast walk to a ice cream store.

Shania was named the 1999 Country Music Entertainer of the year.
