I Love Skippy from Family Ties

Updated on April 9, 2017

I Love Skippy, But Skippy Loves Mallory...

Look at him. He's adorable...the smile, the dimples. And, to top it off, he is the sweetest guy you've ever met. I would marry Skippy in a split second, but that little hussy, Mallory, would rather Nick.

Nick?!?!?! Dumb as a rock Nick?!?!

Skippy is madly in love with her, and she dismisses the very thought of him...for Nick?!?!?!

Mallory is out of her mind, however small it is.

Call me, Skippy. We'll get married, have geeky little babies. It's all good.

Join the Skippy VS. Nick Debate

For me, hands down I'm on the Skippy side, but where do YOU lie on the Skippy vs. Nick debate?

Shot down by Mallory (once again)

From the episode "Fool For Love" written by Marc Lawrence

Skippy: Mallory, wait a minute. I'd like to ask you something.

Mallory: What?

Skippy: Will you go with me to the homecoming dance next week?

Mallory: No, I will not go with you to the homecoming dance next week.

Skippy: Thanks for getting back to me so fast.

Mallory's Choice

This is what she preferred. Even though she had a great guy like Skippy that would do anything for her...who loved her unconditionally....who continued to love her even after being shot down so rudely so many times. This is what she picked. Nick. More stupid than one could imagine, yet Nick was who Mallory chose.

What is it about bad boys? I would so much rather a good guy. A nice guy...dependable and loving, not exciting and dangerous. In his heart, I think Nick was a good person...but he was no Skippy.

Skippy: The Fallback Guy

From Let's Go Our Separate Ways (Part 2) Written by Michael Zabawa

Mallory: Skippy, what are you doing here?

Skippy: Alex told me you were breaking up with Nick.

Mallory: He did?

Skippy: Yes.

Mallory: Well. I did break up with him.

Skippy: Why were you running out though?

Mallory: I found a girl in Nick's bathroom.

[Nick runs out into the hallway]

Nick: Mallory, I can explain!

Mallory: Nick, I really don't need or want your explanation.

Nick: What does that mean?

Mallory: It means you're dumped. Skippy, take me home.

Skippy: Are you sure? Didn't you drive here yourself?

[Mallory grabs Skippy and starts kissing him.]

Nick: Mal, what are you doing?

Mallory: Kissing the person that's always been there for me, no matter what.

Frankly at this point, she doesn't deserve him.

Marc Price Interviews

Skippy, call me. We can get married. Any day, just call me. You and me, babe.

Do you love Skippy? If so, then say so here.

Do you not love Skippy? Have you done lost your mind?

I was actually thinking about doing a Family Ties lens. It is my all-time favorite sitcom. My 10 year old daughter loves it too. Your lens is very cute and I would love to link it to mine, if I ever do one. Super fun lens...thanks for sharing!

I loved family ties but for the life of me I just cannot remember Skippy. Gasp....getting old my memory is fading.

I remember Skippy from Family Ties! He was one of my favorite characters in the show and I'd look forward to him appearing in an episode (even if he was just a minor character). Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I like Marc Price who played Skippy on popular tv show, Family Ties. He is so sweet and kind man. He is wonderful human being and has a great sense of humor. He is so cute, too.

I remember this Skippy dying episode. It was like an interview with Alex, and his laziness actually saved him? Maybe I am just crazy, but I seem to recall.

Does anyone know if Skippy has a Facebook or Myspace account? I need to get a hold of him.

I have this weird memory of Skippy dying in one episode while they were moving a piano down the stairs and it fell on him and later Alex is staring at a diploma on the wall and says that he took Skippy for granted.

      Did I dream this?
