Smiling through the depression

Updated on June 27, 2011
Cash!! Got to get it!
Cash!! Got to get it!
But what would you do to get it?
But what would you do to get it?

Smiling through the depression- the search for cash

So, woke up this morning and hit the deck- sixty press ups and sits ups and some twirly whirlies followed by a run in the shower. Fitness equals motivation which equals cash. Everyones talking about it. You walk down the street and you can hear the echoes on the pavement as they blame everything on the 'recession.' Oh, I have terrible gout, got it from the recession. My husband can't get it up anymore, must be the recession. People love to have something to blame something on. They need to be able to point the finger and say "It was his fault, your man, over there!"

So, theres no money right? Serious lack of jobs. Pretty bad and miserable all round. The Celtic Tiger is in the corner there, he's not well, spluttering and coughing and wooping. The problem with the celtic tiger was that the money was never real in the first place. We were all living off credit for years and then BOOM it crashed and we all woke up with one big debt, so here we are, jobless, monyless and getting hungry.

We need a plan. Thats probably the understatement of the year. Money can't buy you happiness its true, everyone knows that, but money can help you relax a little. Food, clothes, heating, leisure items, that type of thing.

A plan is needed. The question is what are you prepared to do? Is changing careers an option? Is it time to turn to crime? Maybe even become a television presenter or radio salesman.

As Bob would have said 'the times are changing' and us with it.

The first step to getting THE PLAN is realizing that we need one. The second step is putting on our shoes buckling our belt, hiding the tackle and setting about the business of going outside to find the plan. Coffee is consumed with great gusto and cigarettes inhaled deeply, now given away for the sake of super fitness and health.

Must develop the plan. Money is God and money is made from paper which is made from wood. Ergo, the best occupation to be in at the moment is a Forestry position or maybe landscape gardening. A job where there is an abundacy of trees. Maybe it would be a good idea to moonlight in a printing press. Learn as much as possible and then join the two careers into one, print a load of money and move to Hawai and live like a king.

I inhale my coffee and decide to develop my own plan. The journey will not be an easy one, but then, all great adventures never are.

I have drunk my coffee and completed the morning excersises. I look from left to right and walk out the front door. Out there, somewhere, is A PLAN and I intend to find it and then use it. Thats what we need to do in these harsh times. Have a little openess. Keep our eyes wide and observe. There is a plan out there for all of us. The trick is to make sure we can see it. The last thing you want is for it to pass you by.

Stay tuned......

My sentiments exactly. I think the plan is here under our noses. Only problem is we have to work the plan and plan the work. Focus, focus and more focus. The cash is out there we just have to go out and get it.

Hub pages is just the start for all of us to a great life.

      See you on the beaches.

Totally agree. We each need a plan, and we need a plan as a nation.

Someone once said, Success is when Preparation meets Opportunity. I like this hub because right now I am preparing myself with options so when Opportunity comes I will be ready to grab my success. Stay positive and I think I will join you with those morning pushups and sit-ups. Smile!

I agree with your plan. Life is full of possibilities.

As long as you are alive, there is always a hope.

      Hi Ciaron Davies

Yeah there is a plan out there, a positive plan to stay diligent with our hands. Find something good to do with our hands, do it with all our might, then the money will follow.

It's interesting how people do depend upon the plastic money(charge cards), and it's a good idea to have a "plan" especially while getting fit, which will increase good health and less medical expenses. Great hub! :)

Very good writing. Yes, you can't get ahead without a plan, or else you'll sink from the weight of depression. It's a personal hub, yet relevant to everyone in the same position. Voted up and awesome.

Your reference to turning to crime to get money and *then* saying that you might go into television reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock quote where if a man starts to murder he may eventually move forward to.....incivility.

      good irony here.

Yes a group of us decided the best thing we can do in our lives in our future is make sure all our eggs aren't in one basket again. Maybe use all our talents in creative ways, as well as education, and than the job too. We all have talents just have to use them where needed and be creative!

      Great hub!

Plans are important in achieving goals but sometimes they need to be tweaked or changed. "I am following the plan and it is not working." "I guess I am doing something wrong."

It might just be a bad plan or what was a good plan then, isn't now.

I look foward to reading more of your hubs Ciaron.

Like susieg said, thinking outside the box! An interesting first hub.

I have made a lot of plans and tried a few of them. Apparently, nothing went the way I wanted it to be! Maybe my plan was flawed or I didn't do enough work. Ah... I don't want to ruin your wonderful first hub with my rants.

And I still hope one or the other thing will work in the long run. Persistence!

Everyone needs a plan. Motivation is key. Blame will get you no-where and in double quick time.

Sonny Strange has a plan as do I. I'm part of yours if your part of mine.

      Nice writing.
