Sometime in July

...when President John Idika assumed power after the death of President Yaya Omar Yaya, he did one thing which he believed would bring healing to the devastation caused by the coup which was orchestrated by Major Uchegbu and his accomplices all of whom are from the East coastal region. President John Idika actually frustrated that particular coup and as the most senior military officer, he assumed the role of the president, and it was a collective decision by the supreme military council for him to take over. Therefore, he formed a government of inclusion by making Lieutenant Sule from the North coastal region his ADC and also assigned the military might to the North coastal region by making General Ibrahim Gowa the Defense chief.

He wanted national healing and wanted to calm the tension in the North coastal region because the coup was pervieved as East coastal region systematic cleansing of the North coastal region military officer and elites and barely six months after assuming the role of the president, he embarked on a national tour and his first stop was in the West coastal region. While been hosted by Colonel Yinka, the governor of West coastal region, the plan to unsit him was effected and the two Leuitenants with orders from a supreme head struck.

The event that followed their action changed the phase of the nation because Lt. Colonel Odogwu took a drastic decision to salvage the East coastal region because of the killing going on in the North coastal region.
