Lorde - "Royals"
The Love Club EP came out earlier this year, and "Royals" is definitely the stand out single. I was initially drawn to Lorde's music because it is catchy pop, with a sophisticated edge. But when I learned that she is only 16 years old, I was blown away. This girl has amazing talent at such a young age, and she embraces her individuality.
Other Lorde songs include "The Love Club" (from the EP of the same name) and "Tennis Court". Also included on the Tennis Court - Single is a cover of The Replacements "Swingin' Party". Her voice is almost haunting on this cover. Inside this young woman lives an old soul.
