Songs with the word FIRE in the title (with youtube links)
It's something you don't wanna touch, or you'll get burned. But we all like to watch one from a distance. For some reason, people like to watch fires. I've seen people who are just mesmerized watching them. So for those people, and the sane ones like the rest of us, here is a list of songs with the word FIRE in the title.
"(Let Me Stand Next to Your) Fire" by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Noel Redding's bass is great here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPSe6HgqHgw
"Fire" by the Pointer Sisters. One of their biggest hits, from 1978. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCOBp1Lrlf4
"Fire" by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. One of the most macabre songs ever to hit the Top 40. This goofy songs still conjures up weird images today. I love how Arthur opens the song by yelling out, "I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE!" Wicked stuff before Black Sabbath existed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCTaxGhRC5M
"Fire and Water" by Free. I'm currently making my list of my Top 100 songs, and this classic by Free is on it. I like it better than "All Right Now". To see and hear it, go here: http://catfish33.hubpages.com/hub/My-10-favorie-Paul-Rodgers-songs
"The Fire Down Below" by Bob Seger. Love this song, one of Seger's best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4muo19gW8s
"Fight Fire With Fire" by Kansas. Their last radio hit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HD1FPPGvl4
"Smoke From a Distant Fire" by Sanford Townsend Band. You know, I always thought Hall and Oates did this song. I was proven wrong when I looked it up. A big oldies hit from 1977. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xy8ba2eL7cI
"Fire Woman" by the Cult. I'm not a big fan of the Cult, but this song rocks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0coJxNgASs
"Wild Fire Woman" by Bad Company. A kick-ass song from 1975's "Straight Shooter" album. Another entry from the great Paul Rodgers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6rucQSzuic
"Light My Fire" by the Doors and Jose Feliciano. One of the most overplayed songs on classic rock radio. It's great, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather hear Jose's excellent acoustic version. The Doors' original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O6x_m4zvFs Jose's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45mye89Kgs
"Hang Fire" by the Rolling Stones. One of the many hits from the "Tattoo You" album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xbtlW16Gts
"I'm On Fire" by Bruce Springsteen. One of the few songs of his I can stand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrpXArn3hII
"I'm On Fire" by the Dwight Twilley Band, just added. Can't believe I forgot it. A completely different song from the Springsteen one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS_cgag9eQg
"Fire on the Mountain" by the Marshall Tucker Band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhl4UW_gFfY
"Fire on the Mountain" by the Grateful Dead. A completely different song from the one by the Marshall Tucker Band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAhEi7W1ib0
"Fire Your Guns" by AC/DC. From the highly successful "The Razor's Edge" album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk5uE-5rC70
"This House is On Fire" by AC/DC. You know, "Flick of the Switch" is one of the most underrated albums of the '80's. I got it for Christmas in 1983, and I loved it. It unfortunately came out after Def Leppard's "Pyromania" (produced by AC/DC's former producer Mutt Lange), and because Leppard were five handsome young man, and the guys in AC/DC were ugly as sin, MTV promoted the hell outta Leppard and wouldn't play AC/DC's stuff. But this song rocks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZVaDdK9H-A
"Fire and Ice" by Pat Benatar, the pixie with the big voice who should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozjnGSz-PvY
"Fire and Rain" by James Taylor. Back when I was a young metal head, I hated wimpy music like JT's stuff. Now that I'm older, I recognize the greatness of this man, and this was one of his greatest songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwugjyeSKx4
"Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash, George Canyon, and Frank Zappa. I prefer Zappa's goofy version. You can hear it on "The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life", or see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTmTobf9KSY
There ya go! Now go get a fire extinguisher and put the fire out before it spreads!
