Spider-Man 3
Movie Review
Director Sam Rami did it again with the release in 2007 of the movie Spider-Man 3 . This one was better than the first two, taking off where Spider-Man 2 left off and filling the screen with great acting, plot, subplot, and a fabulous Spider-Man movie! The cast was awesome! Once again Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker) and Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane) deliver fantastic performances! The special effects were stupendous and fun to watch! Even my husband, who cannot withstand watching superheroes type movies, liked this one. Usually if anything like this movie appears on the television, he runs out of the room. Spider-Man 3 my husband watched ALL the way through! His comment was "this one had meat. It was good."
Spider-Man 3 explains much, from how the Sandman became the Sandman, to how Spider-Man's powers are enhanced from an alien substance (organism) that creates a very "bad-ass" alter-ego. Yes, our superhero saves many in this action packed film, including the daughter of the Police Chief, which causes Spider-Man even more grief. This movie is a must see for all "Spidey" fans! It is one of the best comic-hero movies.
Spider-Man 3 cast includes Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Bryce Dallas Howard, Thomas Haden Church, Topher Grace, James Cromwell, Elizabeth Banks, Dylan Baker, Theresa Russell, J.K. Simmons, Bill Nunn, and Adrian Lester.
Spider-Man 3 is rated PG-13 and 139 minutes in length (about 2 hours 32 minutes). Neither one of us felt the time pass while watching Spider-man 3. This film held our undivided attention throughout its entirety. Recommend sharing this movie during quality family time with one's teenager. In my opinion as a parent and grandmother, this has some scenes that are too intense and adult for minors twelve and under. There are excellent reasons for the PG-13 rating by the Entertainment Industry.
If you have not seen the first two Spider-man movies, highly recommend watching them (Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 ). All three "Spidey" movies are available on DVD.
Enjoy!
