Stan Lee Cameos In Marvel Superhero Movies
Stan Lee is responsible for helping create some of the most famous superheroes in the Marvel Universe. However, as a young kid Stan didn’t want to be a comic book writer. According to the documentary With Great Powers: The Stan Lee Story, he wanted to be an actor like Errol Flynn. It’s hard to imagine what Marvel Comics or even the superhero genre would look like without the creative and dynamic personality of Stan Lee. He was not only instrumental in changing comic book culture, but has become the face of the industry. People may know the names of Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, Bob Kane, Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Jim Lee or Todd McFarlane, but it is Stan who has embraced the spotlight.
Stan may never have become a professional actor, but through his comic book fame he has been able fulfill part of his childhood dreams. He has performed in video games, television shows, cartoons and movies. It has become a game of casting Stan in Marvel superhero movies and letting fans try to spot him. Below are the Marvel movies Stan has appeared in and screenshots of his scenes.

When Stan Lee went on record as saying he would not appear in the movie because "I didn't write Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm not even sure who they all are. I can't wait to see the movie.”, fans were disappointed. However, Stan is the official co-creator of Groot. (He created the character with Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers.) James Gunn now had a valid reason to find a spot for him in the Guardians movie. Stan was originally going to be in one of the Collector’s trophy cases and flip Groot off. Disney executives quickly stepped in and had it changed to Stan Lee being an alien Casanova. (I am sure Stan was okay with this.)
