States That Produce the Best Rated Singers

Through the ages there have been singers of all genres come and go. It’s always been debated where exactly these great talents have stemmed from. Here I have compiled a list of genres and where I seemed to have noticed where most of their key stars have originated from. The statistics are based on singers I have selected for each genre comprising of past, present and future stars.

Country

Facts- Country music originated in the southern United States. It stemmed from a combination of American Folk Music and Western Music. Before the 40’s this type of music was labeled as hillbilly music. In the 20’s Atlanta was the first to play country music artists. Styles of country music can be comprised of banjos, electric and acoustic guitars, fiddles and harmonicas.

Hip-Hop

Facts- With its start in the 70’s, hip hop is a mix of rapping, urban tones, scratching and beatboxing. Its influence is disco. It is mostly a combination of spoken word emitted over a rhythmic beat. Hip hop began its rise when block parties became popular in New York mainly among the African American youth. DJ’s would combine the music styles of funk and soul placing emphasis on the percussion tones and the introduction of using 2 turntables in order to prolong the percussion breaks in songs. Rap, said to have originated in African, was later introduced in combination with hip hop.

R&B

Facts- R&B was originally said to have been created in the 1940’s mainly defining “African American Music”. However at that time what they were referring to was simply blues music. R&B is a combination of rhythm, blues, pop soul, funk and hip hop. Over the years, RnB was defined under the scope of a few different elements before its genre was more streamlined. This occurred soon after the fadings of disco, in the 80’s. From information gathered, the men R&B stars of today are outshining the women these days. Let’s step it up ladies!

Rock

Facts- Originated as Rock ‘N Roll in the late 40’s, early 50’s. It started with a combination of rhythm & blues, gospel music mingled in with country and western music. It eventually made its way, creating its own unique sound. Rock has a wide range to it with 3 main instruments as its basis: electric guitar, bass guitar and drums. Different forms of the style have emerged such as blues rock, folk rock, country rock, jazz fusion rock and psychedelic rock. Rock music has no bounds and comes from many cultures like Canada, England, Iceland and Australia.
