I am a software engineer working full time and following bachelor degree in software engineering. Love movies, traveling and food.

I watch all types of movies. I never set a limit for watching movies.

I like horror movies as much as I like the sci-fi and action genre.

Horror Movies

Horror movies have existed for more than a century.

Hollywood has produced many horror movies in the past that have really terrified us.

Movies like Nightmare on Elm Street, The Babadook, The Ring, Omen and many other films that have really makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up!

As a horror movie fan I am so disappointed about what Hollywood has produced in the last few years.

The number of horror movies is increasing year by year but most of these films fail to induce the audience's primal fears.

Worst Horror Movies I Watched

Let's forget the past. I never miss a horror movie. From the beginning of 2016 until this date I did not miss a movie which was released under the horror genre.

After watching these movies, I now want to help you save some time and money by listing the three worst horror movies I’ve watched from the beginning of this year – January 01, 2016 – until now - April 26, 2016.

So you can stay away from these worst horror movies and enjoy your time watching or doing something else.

This list includes the worst horror movies I watched in January and February 2016

01. Little Dead Rotting Hood

Produced by: David Michael Latt, David Rimawi, Paul Bales

Directed by: Jared Cohn

Starring: Eric Balfour, Bianca Santos, Heather Tom, Romeo Miller

Release Date: 5 January 2016 (USA)

This was surely my bad luck. My 2016 horror movies’ journey started with this low budget silly movie. Little Dead Rotting Hood was released in the first week of January 2016. Actually, it was the movie title that made me want to watch this ‘garbage’.

Right after the movie’s opening scene I felt this was going to be nothing but a waste of time. And, it was!

The movie was like a short home movie clip made by some kids. Actually, nowadays kids make some good short movies that are much better than this Little Dead Rotting Hood.

What makes this movie one of the worst? Everything except the story. I kind of like the story.

Everyone knows the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood. They changed the story and took only just a single slight line from the story we knew.

Plot summary:

People from a small town discover that something sinister is lurking in the backwoods.

The wolves start turning up dead ... then people.

The town sheriff learns that the wolves inhabiting the nearby forest are getting more aggressive, even deadly. He faces a danger beyond his imagination.

But the visual effects, screen play, casting, graphics, editing, and background music were all horrible.

The graphics looks like Adobe After Effects handled by a beginner.

There is no need for a second opinion. Just stay away from Little Dead Rotting Hood and save your time.

02. Martyrs

Directors: Kevin Goetz, Michael Goetz

Writers: Pascal Laugier (characters), Mark L. Smith (screenplay)

Starring: Troian Bellisario, Bailey Noble, Kate Burton

Release Date: 22 January 2016 (USA)

Martyrs was released the last week of January 2016 in the USA.

The original version of this (French) movie came out in 2008 and is quite famous and known for its brutal scenes.

But the remake did not give me the feeling of what I experienced in the original. I think it's because the directors failed to portray anything close to the original.

For me after the movie intro it was just too boring because of slow screen play.

It is not worth spending 1 hour and 26 minutes of your valuable time by watching this movie. It provides nothing of what the original gave us.

Frankly, the remake misses the artistic touch and poignancy that the original had.

Plot summary:

Lucie (Troian Bellisario) and her childhood friend, Anna (Bailey Noble) seek revenge nearly ten years later on those who victimized and abused them.

You can watch this film but I’m sure you will not enjoy it. Better stay away from Martyrs 2016 version and save your time for something that is more valuable to you.

03. Ratter

Director and Writer: Branden Kramer

Starring: Ashley Benson, Matt McGorry, Kaili Vernoff

Release Date: 12 February 2016 (USA)

It is more a thriller than a horror movie but it was categorized as a horror movie.

Basically, I don’t like ‘static shot angles’ movies.

It was so boring at the middle and the ending was pointless and didn’t end properly.

The only thing you get from Ratter is a message for teenagers.

Ratter shows a fact and another face of technology and what these can do for us.

We can salute the concept of the movie but not the movie itself.

Plot summary:

A teenager living alone in NYC is being watched by a stalker who hacks into all of the technology that she has - laptop, cell phone, and other web connected devices. This obsession continues to grow as the hacker records her most intimate moments.

Do not watch this movie. The only thing you will get is a message; you will not enjoy it.

Thank you for the warning. These wouldn't happen to be in the "so bad it's good" category?
