Super Fan Of Old Movies

Updated on June 25, 2016

It Happened One Night

Classics Just To Name A Few

A Wonderful Life - A Man Alone - Some Like It Hot - Public Enemy - It Happened One Night, Casablanca, Long Train to Gun Hill and more...

A sucker for old movies

With old-fashioned sentimental drags

Values with traditional love

In stylish dressing rags

Acting so close on real

Touching the very heart

Where love only matters

The only important part

Movies that express

Why we are entertained

They suck up our emotions

Till emotionally drained

But movies of today

Really must depict

Society of every way

And every kind of dialect

But I’m a sucker for an old movie

Sitting back in old school

Hearing music of a classical groovy

That is just so cool

The ladies that started glamor

And the gents that had it made

With no cursing and good grammar

Were sort of under paid

Back then was started Hollywood

Still glamorous today

The style in movies years ago

Are back again to stay

I like the top hanky he wore in a well-fitted suit

I like the sheer red dress that she wore too

I bet you liked the mustache of Flynn or Gable

How many more do you like in your classic movie stable?

I love old movies! One of my favorites were introduced by my mother, "Imitation Of Life," the one with Sandra Dee, and, "The Bad Seed" Great Poem! Voted up!

Yes grand, It is one of my holiday classics. There was a good moral to that story. I'm glad you noticed it among others like "It Happened One Night." Let me know how you like that one if you haven't seen it. Thanks for your comment and stopping by :-)

A Wonderful Life will always be a classic. I can't see that sort of movie being made today, which is kind of sad.

As much as I love oldies music I also love watching old movies too! I even got to watch the silent classic film "Wings." I have yet to see "It Happened One Night" though, and I would like to. :)

Every classic film buff will surely relate to your poem with your playful wording. Thanks for sharing! :)

      You write so well Word55!

I too love old movies...old songs and stories too. Sometimes I think that I was somehow from a time before because I feel such connection with the sentiment they share.

Delightful writing, I'll be back to read more!

The apparent simplicity, style and grace of a time of good story, dance and uplifting song; when women weren't afraid to dress and act like women, bathed in an atmosphere of classy glamour.....guess I'd better get busy building that time machine lol!

A pleasant, feelgood piece Word; thanks.

      All the Best,

Yes, AliciaC, Old movies have sentimental values that you don't feel in modern movies with simple stories and the usual happy endings. Thank you so much for your comment.
