Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek mixtape of the new year

The new Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek mixtape dropped yesterday. I actually didn't have the chance to listen to the download *kinda celebrated bringing in the new year..hahaha*, but anyway...this is an INCREDIBLE mixtape. It has 30 tracks *28 if u don't count the intro and outro*, but regardless of that. Hi-Tek did his thing on the beats...definitely love the samples. Of course, Talib Kweli always brings the dope lyrics. What I really like about this mixtape is not only the production and of course Talib's lyrical prowess, it's how the music was actually blended. Static Selektah mixed the cd and also produced some tracks, too...really good blends and scratches between songs so it sounds like a radio dj getting loose on the noon mix of old school stuff and just really playing songs and adding flava to it. Not only that, there are some really good features on the mixtape - Styles P - "Testify" and "The Thrill is Gone"; Nas - "Music for Life"; Ghostface Killah - "Piano". Another thing,  there are different tracks from the original Reflection Eternal album, Talib's first cd "Quality", and the Blackstar album with Talib and Mos Def aka Flaco Bey. A few of the classic tracks like Get By (remix) ft Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Jay-Z, Kanye, and the track "Definition" with Mos Def are all present. This mixtape sounds more like a remix album to me. The whole tracklist sums up to about 70 minutes, so this is definitely a good way to start your new year correctly. I highly recommend it. Dope music, dope lyrics, dope features all for Free 99. hahaha.

check it out:

Oh yeah, while u r at it...Please support Talib on his older albums..he is an incredible emcee that has a lot to say.

Wishing On A Black Star track
