Did you see Idol last night? Well, if you did, you know you had to sit through J-Lo's new video On the Floor. I can't believe they ran the whole thing on American Idol. After all, she's not the only celebrity there. This is the first single off of Jennifer’s new album, Love?, due out April 19th!

According to Star Pulse online, JLo's music career appears to have gotten a big boost from her part new job as one of the judges on American Idol. "The singer/actress/judge debuted her sexy new video for her latest single, "On The Floor" (featuring rapper Pitbull), during Thursday night's American Idol results show. "On The Floor" broke into the Billboard Hot 100 at number nine, her highest debut ever. The song is J. Lo's first entry to the charts since her single "All I Have" shot all the way up to number one back in 2003."

Lopez is not only known for her singing, dancing, and acting but also as a very astute business woman. Besides a clothing line, jewelry line, and restaurant, she has a very successful production company in which she plays an active part. Her ability to promote herself is evidenced by recent connections with American Idol and with the music video industry. Reportedly, she is one of the wealthiest woman in the entertainment business.

Married to Marc Anthony and having two children, she still continues to exhibit energy, drive, and creativity in both her personal and business lives.

Not writing any poetry lately but thanks for thinking about me...spending most of my writing time rewriting my memoir. I have around 20,000 more words to go....

Oh yes American Idol, was great last night

so many talent folk this season, it is going to be very difficult to choose.... American Idol is back, however when Paula left the show, I had lost all interest.

I really like the judges they have this year. I think they're doing a great job.

I missed American Idol last night. Darn. Will make a mental note to check the TV listings next time. The very chubby young teen, the one that was rejected by his group (I don't know his name) was on Ellen yesterday, and what a beautiful voice, I had goosebumps. BTW, Its because of your hubs, that I started watching the show as I don't watch too much TV.

It was very interesting last night. I think the boys are a lot better than the girls. But the JLo video pissed me off.

I hope that's a good thing. Do you still think Steven Tyler looks like a girl?

Hi, I couldn't resist the title of this so came over out of curiosity! I am not sure how far behind we are in England but I love American idol, and Steven Tyler is one of the greats, in fact my favourite song of all time is sung by him, but Jennifer lopez? can't stand her! lol she can't sing, and she is an appalling actress, how she ever got so far is beyond me! but the one thing I love about American Idol is the fact that every single singer is better than the English version! but I was annoyed that they got rid of John wayne something, sorry forgot his name! lol he was my favourite!

She's a good business woman and knows how to promote herself shamelessly, which is exactly why I wrote this hub.

It was fairly promotional and I don't really understand the following this show has but I can't blame anyone for seeking their minute in the spotlight. You wrote a very good article though so hurrah for you. I will be looking forward to your next writing.

My reason for watching this show is that I used to be in the music business as a performer, teacher and musical director. I've gone through the audition thing on both sides and this show always brings back memories. The next hub will be mostly about Steven Tyler.

      Speaking of shameless self-promotion :D:D:D

Your title really intrigued me so I came over for a read. Then, of course, I had to comment so I could add a link :D:D

Seriously, she is a smart business woman, and that makes her a good role model.

I like J Lo, but sometimes I wish she would lay off the sexy stuff. She is so talented as a singer and really does not need to rely on it so much.

But, unfortunately, that's part of her whole stage persona.

It is to an extent, but I suppose I think I confused her with the character Selina she played in the movie. Selena may have worn slightly revealing outfits, but she had somewhat of a more wholesome act on stage. So when I saw a JLo video for the first time, I was a bit surprised. Okay she can act however she wants, sometimes it is a bit much I think.

I totally agree. I think the video is way over the top.

One of the worst examples of talentless media-fabricated 'celebrity.' Horrible singer, not particularly attractive, poor taste in men. I will give her credit for taking advantage of the opportunities presented to her though. Not her fault if so many people are tin-eared, sheep-like fools easily told what they are 'supposed' to like. She can take that to the bank and she should.

Wow! Don't hold back. She's not the best singer, true, but she's an excellent performer. She certainly knows how to take what she's got and put it out there in such a way to create a pretty good following. I suspect she's a darn good business woman.
