Taylor Ladies Guitars

Updated on October 20, 2016

The Bt1 Baby Taylor

The Bt1 Baby Taylor is a guitar that was made for people with small hands. Most guitars of the 1960's and 1970's were made for the male market. How many women did we see playing guitars? You could not see them because they were no markets for women. The Baby Taylor is not only great for women and kids, but it is great as a travel guitar.

The Baby Taylor has 17 frets and I can play A at the 17th fret. There are position markers on the side of the fret board as well as bigger ones on the fret board. The guitar has a Sitka Spruce top with Sapele back and sides. Around the sound hole is a wood carved rosette. This is the first guitar I ever owned that had no binding. The Baby Taylor is 20 years old. These guitars have been used in elementary schools and middle schools in California. This is great because they have guitar instruction in the class room. Taylor Swift in her early days had a Baby Taylor.

The Baby BT1 is great for playing finger style or pick. This is a great guitar for people who have hand problems like getting older and the hands tend to get stiff. This has put a lot of older guitar players back to playing again. The play-ability and action are great for little hands which also makes this guitar good for kids. When I sit down with the guitar in my hands I feel I am in control and that guitar is not going to slip anywhere, it is totally manageable to hold and play. The guitar is very affordable and comes with a gig bag. I am not a fan of gig bags I would tell anyone to buy a small hard-shell case and get more protection. I have seen too many broken guitars over the years.

I take two things when I travel my dog Trixie and my Baby Bt1. I do a lot of camping and this is the perfect guitar for traveling. It is very light and easy to take when traveling. I would guess the guitar is about 3 pounds without the case. That's what I like about this guitar. After several health issues this is a good choice for me and other seniors facing the same challenges.

Overall, the Bt 1 Baby Taylor is a guitar that will surprise you with a really nice sound.

The Taylor

The Taylor Baby Bt1 can give the guitar player the best of both words. It is great for country music and finger style bluegrass music. I like that the guitar can be used to play just about any type of finger style music. There are 108 notes on the fingerboard and you can play these on this little guitar.

Every player has their own personal profile of what they want a guitar to do. You and only you know how a guitar feels and plays. I can count on one hand how many guitars I've played that were unforgettable. I know there were 2 guitars.

This is a very inexpensive way of finding a small guitar that is not a piece of junk. I would also recommend these guitars for kids after they have a year or two under their belt. You may be asking, why do they have to wait? Have you ever seen what a 7 or 8 yearolds guitar looks like? I have seen many and there are some that don't make the first year. If the child really progresses I would consider a little bit of money and invest in a Bt1 Baby Taylor.

I have enjoyed my little Taylor Bt1 guitar and have owned it for 2 years. I am sure I will keep it. I like being able to bring a guitar where ever I go and this has a much better sound then those cheap 3/4 student China guitars. The Bt1 was made in Mexico. The bracing gives the guitar its greater warmth and its sustain.

There are a few people in our Seniors beginning class that played this guitar, that's where I first heard it. Seniors and young kids can't always lug heavy guitars.
