It is that time of year again (no not the time when Santa is checking his naughty and nice list). The time of year when Barbara Walters makes her list of the 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year.

For 2009 they are…

LADY GAGA was born March 28, 1986 in New York, New York and is a singer. Lady Gaga is best known as a singer with such songs as Poker Face and Just Dance and her outrageous fashion statements. Lady Gaga has stirred controversy regarding her sexuality and some have questioned her gender as well.

JENNY SANFORD was born in 1962 and is best known as the wife of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. Jenny Sanford was an investment banker whose husband created controversy when disappeared to be with his mistress in Argentina. Jenny Sanford has been a pillar of strength through out the situation.

TYLER PERRY was born September 14, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Perry is best known for his character Madea as well as his plays and movies that include the Madea character. Tyler Perry is an actor, producer and director of plays, movies and television shows.

KATE GOSSELIN was born March 28, 1975 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a reality show star on Jon & Kate plus 8 which is a show about her family which includes sextuplets and a set of twins. The world got to know Kate Gosselin through her reality show as viewers watch the up and downs of her life.

GLENN BECK was born February 10, 1964 in Everett, Washington and is a radio, television host and author. Glenn Beck is best known as a conservative shock jock that makes his political stance well known. Beck’s radio show has a huge following and brings controversy with his political opinions.

ADAM LAMBERT was born January 29, 1982 in Indianapolis, Indiana and is a singer who was the runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. Adam Lambert caused a bit of a stir when pictures surfaced of him kissing another man, which led to Lambert admitting that he was gay.

BRETT FAVRE was born October 10, 1969 in Gulfport, Mississippi and is a National Football League Quarterback. Brett Favre spent 15 years with the Green Bay Packers when he retired. Shortly after his retirement he came out of retirement to play for the New York Jets and is currently with the Minnesota Vikings.

SARAH PALIN was born February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho and is a politician who was Governor of Alaska. Sarah Palin was the first female governor of Alaska and is best known as the Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States in 2008. It is highly speculated that Sarah Palin will run for presidential nomination in 2012.
