The Daily Movie Quote: There Will Be Blood
"Drainage! Drainage, Eli! Drained dry, you boy! If you have a milkshake and I have a milkshake and I have a straw and my straw reaches across the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!" - Daniel Plainview, There Will Be Blood (2007)

Synopsis: A greedy oil-man moves in on a small town and the Sunday family property. Tensions with Eli Sunday, the local pastor, escalate and we see what people will do to get and keep money.
Fact: New Mexico Republican Senator Albert Fall was the origin of the "I drink your milkshake" quote. He used that analogy when testifying before congress during the 1920's Teapot Dome scandal.
Trivia: Director Paul Thomas Anderson used The Treasure of the Sierra Madre as inspiration. He watched it every night during the filming of There Will Be Blood.
Movie Mistake: Daniel Plainview's boot has a waffle sole which wasn't invented until the mid 70's.
My Take: I walked out of There Will Be Blood thinking that Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest actor to ever grace the screen. Wow! What a performance. I was also equally impressed how Paul Dano rose to the occasion because he could have very easily been left behind. Great movie, one of my favorites that year.
