The Diplomats, also known as Dipset are a Harlem, NY based hip hop music group. The group was founded in 1997 by Cam'ron and Jim Jones. The original members of the group were Cam'ron, Freekey Zekey and Jim Jones, although they have added many members since then such as, Juelz Santana, Hell Rell and JR Writer. In 2001, the group was signed to Roc-A-Fella Records until 2004 when they would sign to their own label, Diplomat Records. The Diplomats became somewhat iconic in the world of hip hop street music, basically putting Harlem on the map. Eventually, the group disbanded and each member would start their own groups. Cam'ron started The U.N. with Vado. 40 Cal. started Skeme Team. Freekey started 730 Dips. Hell Rell started Top Gunnas. Juelz started Skull Gang and JR Writer started Thundabyrdz. Although The Diplomats are working on their own projects, they are still on speaking terms and still collaborate with one another. Now, all we need is the Diplomatic Reunion.
