The Draper-Wolff family is back with Stella's Last Weekend film: Post-Nickelodeon's The Naked Brothers Band TV series
Stella's Last Weekend releases into theaters on October 12, 2018.
Stella's Last Weekend is an award-winning independent comedy-drama film written and directed by Thirtysomething actress Polly Draper and starring her actor/musician sons Nat and Alex Wolff, of Nickelodeon's The Naked Brothers Band TV series fame.
It tells of Oliver (Alex Wolff), who starts dating Violet (Paulina Singer) after she rejects his older brother Jack (Nat Wolff), and the film's title is named after their real life family dog who is also featured dying in the film. Draper is co-starring as their mother, Sally, and Nick Sandow is portraying Sally's boyfriend, Ron.
The theme music was composed by Draper's husband and the siblings' father, jazz pianist Michael Wolff, and Nat and Alex wrote and performed the other songs. The executive producers who helped finance the film were: Fred Roos, the Oscar-winning producer of The Godfather Part III film; Draper's brother, Tim, who is the wealthiest venture capitalist in Silicon Valley, California; and father, William H. III. Draper is also producing with Ken H. Keller, and his wife Caron Rudner-Keller, the latter two who own the filming studio distributing the film, Related Pictures (formerly called Kidzhouse Entertainment—the same filming studio The Naked Brothers Band was shot at, only in a different location).
The film earned Draper the Grand Prize at the San Antonio Film Festival in August 2018, and Alex will obtain the Auteur Award from the San Diego International Film Festival as of October 11th.
