Is it fiction?
Yes it is but based on reality because alot of people are seeking for a way out, there is mass exodus of people leaving the country seeking for green pastures across the boarders and this is because of bad governance. There are lots of University graduates without jobs, alot found themselves in petty trades and jobs but the lucky ones find their escape and Ben was one of them.
Escape Route allows us to explore one of the situation caused by bad governance in Nigeria because Ben actually found a way out (LIKE SO MANY CITIZENS OF NIGERIA), he called it his own escape route but while he was on the verge of leaving the country, Nancy his enstrained girlfriend also found her own escape route from the situation caused by Ben's negligence and the fact that she is frustrated and broken.
If there is anything a broken mind can do; it is vengeance and this film takes us far beyond what vegance is all about because in reality vengance leaves a devastating situation especially to those who happen to be at the right place at the wrong time.
