Its back again! Don't miss the 2015 version.
The Great New York State Fair is almost here!
This is a brief review of what not to miss and why people go every year. This is one of my favorite things to do every summer. The food, music and all of the sites always make going to the State Fair worth our while!
Here are a few things that you shouldn't miss.
-A big draw is the free concerts! In the past,Steppenwolf, Ray Charles, 3 Dog Night, Ted Nugent, The Bare Naked Ladies,and of course Lady Antebellum have taken the stage.
-There are also a lot of performances in the Dairy Building, and the New Times/ Empire Theater in the Arts and Home Building. And don't forget the butter sculpture! This year features the Great American Milk Drive.
The horse and other animal shows are always worth seeing too.
-Don't miss the cool down in the ice sculpture building, and the high dive events!
-The wine slushies and tent make a return as they used to be, this year!
Then there is all of that food! From Alligator, to deep fried pickles, to the extra fat hamburger with the glazed doughnut bun. Then, of course, do not forget about the most popular food item most years...the blooming onion! One of the worst for you but one of the best too!
- Then you have the living statues, and human puppets on stilts.
Just go and see for yourself! The Fair is always an awesome spectacle to be a part of!

Of course the big names at the Grand Stand this year include:
Personally, I think that the better line up is at Chevy Court! How can any venue compete with this?
The Salt and Peppa 2:00pm and Snoop Dog 8:00pm Wednesday 9/2
The Jacksons- Saturday Sept.. 5th. This of course, is The Jackson 5 minus the late and great Michael.
Steve Miller- Sunday Sept. 6th at 8:00pm.

Yes, there are several more good acts at Chevy Court this Summer!
I can live without the Bacon Brother's (yes, Kevin has a band. Don't they all?), and Night Ranger, but they will bring a crowd. Get there early to get your seats!

There is so much more!
- Then you have the free petting zoo with countless exotic animals, and knowledgable staff.
- You have to make your way to the midway of course, with all of the rides and games. I have been working out, so I think I'm stepping on the scale this year to win a prize! Also, they have a great fun house on the Mid-way.
- The hall of thrills includes the sky swing, animals shows, aquatic stunts, and more.
-There are also dance shows, small concerts and performances of all types, on small stages.
-Then you have the grandstand shows! And you get in free to the Fair with your concert ticket. http://www.nysfair.org/concerts/grandstand/
-Don't forget the monster trucks and demolition derby!
-Last but not least, there is all the food in the world there! Don't miss the chicken doughnut, deep fried Oreos, and all of the other unhealthy treats!
My favorites: I love the animals, free concerts, war re enactments, the Indian Village, the food, the politicians asking for my vote and so much more!
