The Iranian Sex Scandal is Quite Popular
She is or was Iran's most popular TV actress and star, Zhara Ebrahimi. Over two-thirds of Iran knows of her for her acting ability and know her for a different reason: a sex dvd showing herself or someone who looks like her with there ex-boyfriend having sex and other bedroom activities. The 25 yr old, at the time, is showing in and doing very explicit acts that are, well, common between lovers, after all, they were going to be married. But in Iran, where sex outside marriage is reason for stoning or lashing, it IS a big deal.
The DVD has sold over 100,000 at $13 a pop. Zahra has seen it and said:
"I watched the film after I heard about the fuss from colleagues and the girl in it is not me," Ebrahimi said...."It is possible to use studio make-up to have a person look like me. I have some knowledge of montage techniques and I know you can create a new face by distorting the features of another person".
Maybe so. The video was supposedly distributed by her boyfriend who was extradited from Armenia by the law authorities. Since she was famous and earning a decent living, for him, it is income. She says her ex boyfriend is taking revenge with her by using her duplicate in the porn video. The result of this porn video has forced many production houses to ban their programs that featured Zahra.
She no longer popular with many, yet, the DVD sells. Kind of conundrum where a society claims one thing yet privately things otherwise! In some countries, the to be brides are allowed to get reconstructive surgery of their hymen done before marriage as there is no proof of prior sexual activity for men.
