The Voice Behind Hit Song "The Big (Big) Bang"
Singers Her Voice is Similar To

- Amy Winehouse
- Selena Gomez
- Rihanna
- Adele
So...It's Not Miley Cyrus Singing?
Like me, you may have been driving down the road and heard the catchy tune, “The big BIG bang! The reason I’m alive…” and immediately you started wondering, who is this singing? Some thought it was Miley Cyrus with the huskiness in her voice. Others thought it was Rihanna because of the unique quality that colored some of her notes. Some even thought it was Adele because of the rich smokiness and clarity in the tone of her voice when she sings the chorus. I thought it was a just-released Amy Winehouse song. But it’s neither of the four. And the reason why you couldn’t put your finger on exactly who she is, is because most people have never heard of her. She’s a new British artist named Kay Tiz who, at the time that this song hit the charts, was neither well-known nor signed.

Who Does She Look Like?
With her youthful face and blond locks, some say she looks like a young Britney Spears and has a stage presence like Kesha. But Tiz is a unique force of her own and with such an intriguing voice, her songwriting skills, and her ability to own the stage, she is showing herself as a force truly to be reckoned with. So how did this unknown, unsigned artist land a hit song on the Billboards Top 100?
Katy's Music Bio
Tiz isn’t entirely new to the music industry game. According to her biography in Allmusic, she was once signed by Lava Labels and released a song titled “Red Cup” in 2013, a pop song with a reggae undertone about drinking life’s problems away. She was eventually dropped from the record but didn’t let it get her down. She never gave up on her talent or her passion. Her perseverance along with the help of her managers at DAS Communications led her to Rock Mafia, a songwriting duo (Miley Cyrus) who had recorded "The Big Bang" back in 2010.
According to Billboard.com, she teamed up with Rock Mafia and reproduced her cover version of “The Big Bang.” Executive reps at Clear Channel heard the song and decided to play it on nationwide airwaves (Hampp, 2014). Shortly after the release of her single “The Big Bang,” she signed with Atlantic Records.

As long as you believe in yourself, you can convince someone else to believe in you too. Just look at Katy Tiz's single travelling up the Billboards. Perseverance and persistence definitely have plus-sized payoffs.
