The Words Don't Belong to You
Passionate writers
Words are not meaningful when taken from someone else’s book and I know that from my own experiences.
I had my articles stolen and re-published on other sites and I let go of those bad experiences.
I watched the movie ''The Words'' and found this to be an issue for many people via the Internet.
Some people enjoy stealing the works of others.
A writer, played by Bradley Cooper, is thrilled to have the book on the market, but was his work published so freely?
His girlfriend is amazed by her boyfriend's writing talent. While working as a male supervisor at a literary agency he goes on to get this book published there. They're a line of rejections, those made him feel like a failure to him.
Bradley Cooper acts out as Rory Jansen, who feels the need to make something of him. To show worthiness to his girlfriend played by Zoe Saldana, like Dora. The couple eventually married after living together for quite some time.
The girlfriend Dora had admired an old briefcase in an antique store and had to buy it for Rory. After many trials of having his book rejected, he accidentally finds a manuscript in the bought briefcase.
The character in this manuscript is called Jack. Bradley Cooper acting as Rory takes charge and rewrites every word of the manuscript on his computer.
Sometime later, after a brief misunderstanding between the girlfriend Dora and Rory, Dora sees the manuscript and reads every word with great surprise. She had no idea her boyfriend had such a talent for writing.
Dora was excited about Rory's talent in writing a novel and shared the moment of excitement together. She insisted he publishes the novel at his workplace.
Željko Ivanek acts as Joseph Cutler, the publisher who at work had forgotten about the manuscript, but finally gets to read it and is impressed with the ''work'' of Rory.
A manuscript in the hands of another to be published, but not his own work. The manuscript is accepted, and Rory becomes a famous writer.
While Rory continues to read the details of the second part of the book, he encountered an old man. The old man followed Rory after noticing the book in the window of a store.
He sat down on a bench in New York City's Central Park and started a conversation with Rory. The man played by Jeremy Irons reveals himself actually to be the author of the novel.
The whole story is then told by the old man to Rory. He rightfully explains the story as it is looked at in his life from a young boy. The story goes on from the last days of World War II.
Nora Arnezeder acting as Celia was the wife of the old man Ben Barnes and he continued to tell the story of how he met his wife when in his younger days.
They had a baby girl but died after birth.
The traumatic experience allowed Celia to go to her parent's home for a while. An old man began writing the novel and Celia went to her family's home. The loss of their child was too much to bear for him and her.
Ben Barnes took the time to write when he felt alone and broken apart.
He went to visit Celia at her parent's home and showed her the story that he wrote from his heart. Celia was moved by the novel and returned to her husband.
While on the train back home, she forgot to take back with her briefcase from the compartment above.
Due to this incident sadly, they divorced. The true writer of the novel who told his story so intently to Rory had to reveal it all.
The creation of the novel came about from his life experiences and while he was hurting from the loss of the baby and from his marriage.
At first, the truth about how the novel came about was told to Dora, his wife of Rory and then to the publisher Cutler. Rory had the idea of crediting the old man for his work, but Cutler did not like that idea.
To give the old man a share of the earnings was not going to be part of their decision. I enjoyed the movie ''The Words,'' it was told with such brilliance.
It does open one mind to write.
The people chosen for this movie did a fantastic job acting out their roles and they were so well-suited.
The story within a story was told to perfection.
I was entertained from the beginning and followed with great interest. Characters are among my favorites and with a lot of thought here into each role.
The manuscript did not belong to Rory, and he did not deny that to the writer himself. He wanted the writer to have a fair share of the profits, but the old man refused to take the money.
Instead, he wanted forgiveness from his wife.
A masterpiece told with a lot of emotions and with a twist too. You can think and wonder more about the story told within the story.
I recommend you watch the movie ''The Words,'' if you have not yet watched it.
A struggling writer who became famous with a novel he did not put pen and paper to. He stole another man's manuscript and made it his own.
This film is about a young struggling writer, who becomes successful with a manuscript that he did not write.
A dishonest act and a unique combination of words used indeed. I would not want to tell you more than I have already mentioned here.
Find out about the rest of the movie for yourself. I write to share my interests with my readers. My work is important to me and others if necessary.
Some writers think they can steal the works of others and call them their own. I prefer to write from the heart.
Certain moments can make you feel great about yourself and when you achieve the best you want to share it with readers. Writing may not be for everyone; only if you are patient will you see progress.
A writer writes from experiences and with great intentions. The little moments you want to write about to keep as a memory.
Be alert and know what you want from writing before you decide to publish your work.
Above all, publish your thoughts. It makes more sense and writing can be more interesting.
- · Plagiarism is not allowed!
- · Don't publish what you did not write.
It is like he struck gold with the find of the manuscript, but the guilt remained within knowing it was not his very own work.
You too would feel guilty if you stole another person's manuscript and made it your own, and had it published.
· If you had a shortcut to achieving your goal would you go for it?
Sometimes you are not able to meet all your goals and the one you really want can be far-fetched.
Do not publish what you have no idea of and what does not belong to you.
The choices you make must be lived by and once your mind is made up no one can take that away from you.
To live with that decision for the rest of your life must be a challenging one.
Wrrite and share your own work
Great achievements
