The ten best dance songs
These are 10 great ones that make you want to get up and boogie!
10. Let's do the Twist- Chubby Checker. This is an oldie but...you know! Chubby's song changed the 50's and brought in a great new dance that is still popular today. I did not like his follow up songs but this one was a classic!
9. I miss you much- Janet Jackson. Janet made her mark with one.many of her love songs were mushy and boring. This one was anything but!
8. Action-Terror Fabulous. Half English, half not, but all fantastic! This was a great dance hit from a one hit wonder...weren't most of them?
7.White Lines- Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five. This was an anti crack/cocaine song that was fun to dance to.It had a great , progressive beat that was unique for that era.If you listen to it, you'll laugh, but ask any dj to play it, and watch the dance floor come to life.
6. La Bamba- Los Lobos.Their version was a great party song! Part rock, part folk, part salsa, but this was all smash
5. Born to be Alive- Patrick Hernadez . Who doesn't love this? Patrick made people fill the floor and he had a cool message. This was pure disco, but it still "danced" to its own drum.
4. We Like to Party- The Venga Boys. They like to party. What a great song to dance to! I still can't listen to this without thinking of that old guy from the 6 flags commercials.
3. ABC,123- The Jackson 5. The Jackson's ruled this genre.
2. The Electric Slide- Neville Livingston. Dance Clubs everywhere played this one non stop. This one also had it's own dance.
