Queen Latifah is an American singer, rapper, model and actress from Newark, New Jersey. Her world renown work in film, music and television have earned her a Golden Globe Award, 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award and 2 Image Awards. Additionally, she has also been nominated 6 times for a Grammy Award, once for an Emmy Award and once for an Academy Award.
Queen Latifah first came to fame in the late 80's when she signed to Tommy Boy Records and released her debut rap album, "All Hail The Queen". In 1998, she released her fourth and last hip hop album titled, "Order In The Court". After that album, Queen Latifah decided to switch to singing Jazz and R&B soul music, where she had some success.
Although there are many facets to Queen's success, we will only be focusing on her career as a rapper in this hub. Though, it seems we will never likely hear another Queen Latifah rap album, she claims to be working on the sequel to "All Hail The Queen".
