Ransom is an American rapper from Jersey City, New Jersey. Ransom made his first appearances as a member of the rap group, The A-Team alongside fellow New Jersey rapper, Hitchcock. The two would become staples in the mixtape circuit in New Jersey for their "Hardwood Classics" albums. In 2006, the two parted ways and Ransom soon began his solo career.

Ransom has released multiple mixtapes including Best In The City, Ransom Note, Street Cinema, Pain and Glory and his latest, Winter's Coming. In 2007, word got out that Ransom was feuding with fellow New Jersey native, Joe Buddens. The two released diss tracks toward each other and rumor has it that things escalated into violence.

Aside from Ransom's past, he is undoubtedly one of the most talented rappers of all time (in my opinion). His lyrical execution and delivery is one that has not been seen in the world of hip hop and if it has, it's probably because he ghostwrote for that actor. Oops, I meant rapper. If you have not heard Ransom and are a fan of hip hop, I strongly urge you to listen to some of his songs. He truly is one of the most underrated artists in hip hop.
