Although it is an animated series about four kids, the show is meant for mature audiences and parodies a wide range of current events, trends and celebrities using humor. Often criticized for using crude language, but those who love south park just can't get enough.

One of the funniest, and most controversial episodes ridicules Scientology and many prominent scientologists like Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Tom Cruise is also suggested to be 'trapped in the closet' and everyone begs him to 'come out of the closet'. Rumors say Cruise was furious after the episode aired and demanded its removal. Chef, a scientologist himself, quit the show.

The boys decide to teach Cartman a lesson by ignoring him. Cartman is convinced that non one can see him or hear him because he is dead. Butters, as usual, pays the brunt. He's not in on the plan and both him and Cartman believe, he's the only one who can see Cartman's ghost.

Another episode that shows us just how twisted and evil Cartman can be. Cartman wishes to get back at bully Scot Tenorman, and viewers keep guessing just how low would he go. The shockingly morbid climax raises the bar on how demented Cartman can be. Cartman is surely the most hilariously offensive character in south park, and maybe all television.

When a renegade gamer won't play by the rules, trouble breaks upon the online gaming world. It is up to the boys to beat the madman and save the world of warcraft.

This is one of the funniest southpark episode, where Cartman gets to play a cop. He goes around demanding people to "Respect my Authoritah!" A pervert is going around town molesting chickens. Barbrady is back in school, owing to the discovery of his illiteracy. The boys must solve the case and catch the pervert. A laughter riot- this is a favorite among fans.

Another very controversial episode that spoofs and touches all the sensitive points around Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. Cartman, inspired by the movie, rallies all south park citizens against the Jews. Kyle too is questioning his faith after watching the movie. It paints a ridiculous picture of Mel Gibson, as a crazy guy. There's something very prophetic about the episode, as soon after it was aired, Gibson's trouble with anger and alcohol came to light.
