Angelina Jolie plays the role of Maleficent in the movie.
The meaning of the word maleficent is causing or capable of producing evil or mischief. The story of the movie is from the perspective of eponymous antagonist. It depicts a conflicted relationship with the princess and king of a corrupt kingdom.
Maleficent is a kind-hearted fairy, who is deceived by the love of her life, Stefan. Soon, she places a curse on his daughter, Aurora, an infant princess, in order to avenge her thirst for justice. It turns out that the curse child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land.
She fits superbly her role of portraying a good person-turned-evil down to the letter in the movie. Indeed, it is an imaginative and excellent take on the old classic fairy tale.
Angelina Jolie will reprise her role as Maleficent in the sequel, Maleficent 2.
Salt (2010)
Angelina Jolie played as CIA agent named Evelyn Salt. As CIA agent she, is accused of being a Russian spy by a Russian defector on the eve of her wedding anniversary.
It is Angelina Jolie all the way; she is incredibly good as the female agent, more or less comparable with leading role in the Bond or Bourne series.
If action movies thrill you then you will enjoy watching this movie. Though not practical, I found it entertaining and exciting from the starts till the end of this movie. It is an action packed, high-adrenaline spy story.

They find a boy fitting her son's description five months later. She is reunited with her kidnapped son in Los Angeles in 1928. However, the boy turned out to be an impostor.

She played as Marianne Pearl, the wife of Daniel pearl. This documentary style drama is about the kidnapping and killing of Wall Street Journal, Daniel Pearl in Pakistan. The story is from the perspective / perception of Marianne Pearl.
Daniel Pearl does not return home after his visit to a cafe for an interview. Then Mariane starts a frantic search to look for her husband. The frantic detective work on the part of cops and spies and embassy officials is commendable, but the ultimate emphasis is on the passive figure of Mariane, who has nothing to do but be very, very brave.
This biography movie won "Santa Barbara International Film Festival Award for Outstanding Performance of the Year" for Angelina Jolie.
This sad but beautiful movie eloquently portrayed the hardship and difficulties of losing once life partner. Worth watching!
Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005)
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie played a bored married couple, who were actually both secret agents.
John (Brad Pitt) and Jane (Angelina Jolie) Smith are the perfect couple: rich, stylish, and good-looking. But all is not as it seems; while Jane is not a systems analyst and John does not work in construction. Unbeknown to each other, they are both secretly working as assassins. Now, their respective assignments are to kill each other.
The plot may not be good but the movie-Mr. and Mrs. Smith- is entertaining. It is entertaining because there is perfectly formulated chemistry between Pitt and Jolie throughout the film. Because of this chemistry, the movie works well and is worth watching.

She played heroine Lara Croft, the popular character of videogame.

Girl, Interrupted (1999)

In this movie Angelina Jolie played supporting role of psychopath, Lisa Rowe of the Susanna Kaysen's memoir of the same name.
A directionless, rich, spoiled and confused teenager Susanna (Winona Ryder) is rushed to Claymoore, a mental institution, after a supposed suicide attempt. She befriends a group of troubled women there who deeply influence her life. Lisa (Jolie), a charming sociopath who has spent years in the hospital, with repeated escapes and returns; sexually-abused Daisy is addicted to laxatives and self-harm, Polly is a burn victim who wants to be a child forever, and Georgina is a pathological liar. As she copes with therapy, Susanna not only struggles to heal herself, but struggles to define what is wrong with her.
Jolie excellently played her role as the flamboyant, irresponsible girl who turns out to be far more instrumental than the doctors in Susanna’s rehabilitation.
Girl, Interrupted tackles various sensitive issues like gender bias, morality etc. There are some details and decent acting that make the movie worth watching. It may be dark and brooding, but you may not like to miss this film.

Gia (1988): Too beautiful & glamorous to die, but too wild to live
Directed by: Michael Cristofer
Year: 1998
Duration: 120 min
Genre: Drama, Biography, Romance
Starring: Angelina Jolie, Faye Dunaway, Elizabeth Mitchell
The movie is based on a true story and the life of the first American supermodel, Gia Marie Carangi, played by Angelina Jolie. The movie is about her meteoric rise to the forefront of the modelling industry, to her untimely death from AIDS at age 26.
Within minutes of arriving New York City at the age of 17 to become a fashion model, Gia Carangi meets Wilhelmina Cooper (Faye Dunaway), a wise and high-powered agent, and she takes Gia under her wing. With Cooper's help and her own natural instincts, Gia quickly shoots to the top of the modelling world. When Cooper dies of lung cancer, Gia turns to drugs. Gia and her career begin to spiral out of control.
All that the movie covered - fashion, drugs, alcohol and sex- became almost a lifestyle in the 70s. Gia is a frightening. People really go through these types of addictions and problems.
Gia is not a movie for children. Jolie excellently portrays the life of a lonely teenage girl who was trapped inside an adult woman; her only comfort being her lover and later, her drugs.
It is a haunting movie but worth watching.
