Tribute to "The Office"

Updated on February 7, 2013

One Of The Greatest Shows of Our Time

Where to start, well if you haven't watched The Office turn on your T.V., sign up for Netflix, Hulu, or whatever you have and watch this show now! This is by far one of the best shows that I have ever seen. The original show was produced for the U.K. audiences and became really popular so they decided to produce a U.S. version. Both great shows but since Steve Carell is my favorite actor, I wanted to dedicated this hub to the U.S. version of The Office.

For those who have never watched the show before, here is some background knowledge to get up to speed and some information on the cast. The first season of The Office introduces the staff of the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The cast includes Michael Scott (Steve Carell) who is the ill-informed boss, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), receptionist Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) and temp Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak). Jim and Pam's relationship involves a flirtatious vibe when they are around one another, as they tease and play pranks on Dwight. Dwight is a strange character who everyone can relate to at one point in his or her life that makes you laugh throughout the show. Michael has an uncontrollable desire to be loved by everyone in the office are all established in the first season, and this sets the tone for the rest of the show. Well I don’t want to give away too much so make sure to watch the show.

Michael Scott- Michael is the main character and sees himself as the “World’s Best Boss.” Michael sees The Office as his home away from home, and the workers are like his family. He has these great one-liners throughout the show that people take offense to and are things that you shouldn’t say at work. They’re offensive but he means well and just wants everyone to get a good laugh. Michael is the boss but he wants people to see him as a friend first and a boss second. Everyone in the office besides Dwight Schrute views him as incompetent and believes he’s a distraction to them. Michael wasn’t always seen this way, before becoming Regional Manager of Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company he was a great sales rep, able to relate well with his clients and utilized his friendly attitude. As soon as he got promoted the position of regional manager he was seen as unfit for the position, but when people need help he jumps right in and usually fixes the problem.

Dwight Kurt Schrute III- He’s the top salesman and former acting manager at Dunder Mifflin, also Michael’s right hand man. He has won numerous awards for his accomplishments in sales and has an outstanding direct marketing list to help him achieve these sales, despite missing social skills and common sense. Although his peers don’t appreciate his hard work and play pranks on him he’s still one of the top dogs at the office.

Jim Halpert- Jim is a sales representative at Dunder Mifflin and works close to Dwight. He doesn't use any text message marketing tactics to achieve his sales goals. He’s always figuring out ways to prank Dwight and Pam is always assisting in these pranks. He’s smart, funny, and gets along with everyone in the office besides Dwight. I don’t want to give too much detail on this Jim and you should watch the show to learn more.

Pamela Morgan – When the show first aired she played the receptionist at Dunder Mifflin and was one of Michael’s favorite workers. Many episodes of the series circle around her desire to be more forceful and have an artistic career, as well as her flirtatious relationship with Jim Halpert. Pam and Jim are involved in a number of office pranks on Dwight. Pam is represented as an outgoing and generally amiable employee of Dunder Mifflin.

Proof the Michael is the "World's Best Boss"
