Watch Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events On Netflix
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is a 2004 American gothic dark comedy film directed by Brad Silberling and starring Meryl Streep, Jennifer Coolidge, Jude Law and Jim Carrey. It’s based on the books written by Lemony Snicket (Snicket is the pseudonym for Daniel Handler).
A Series of Unfortunate Events is about the misfortune of the Baudelaire siblings, fourteen-year-old Violet Baudelaire, twelve-year-old Klaus Baudelaire and their baby sister Sunny. The series is narrated by Lemony Snicket (played by Jude Law). After the mysterious death of their parents, the Baudelaires move in with their relative, Count Olaf (played by Jim Carrey), who belittles them and makes them do chores. Count Olaf wants the Baudelaire fortune.
I have never seen this movie until 2020 but I read the books back in 2007. I read all thirteen books in this series. I found the movie on Netflix and decided to watch it and the movie was good but I didn’t like the fact that they took the first three books of the series and combined them into one movie. Why couldn’t they have made a movie for each thirteen book of the series? It’s like the movie titled the sisterhood of the traveling pants. There was four books in that series but only two movies. The first movie is based on the first book but the second movie combines the last three books.
