What Are Your Opinions About the Future of the Grammy Awards?
What are Your Opinions About The Future Of The Grammy Awards?
With the change in the Recording Academy's mind, it is obvious that the Recording Academy of the Year nominees is at a crossroads and that some things have to change. Here are some of the changes they have to make.
The number of winners who receive the most cash at the gala awards is diminishing each year, while the number of non-winners is increasing. If you look at the list of last year's Grammy winners, you will see that the top five winners made all of three times more than the fifth, while the top 10 made one hundred and sixty-four times more than the next highest.
Nominees that do not win are often the recipients of lavish awards given to all kinds of individuals. These types of individuals are known as "Grammy Snobs" and they are known for the reasons that they deserve a record label for their money. It has become clear that the current situation is not fair to all music fans who like to listen to new artists and it needs to be changed.
Normal people who pay little attention to these awards, have to spend a lot of time looking for winners. The process is very time consuming and many normal people have given up on finding music they like when they should not have given up. What are your chances if you wait until the very last minute to check out the results of the Annual Survey, which is what the Grammy's do each year.
Who knows, maybe the album that won the Album of the Year award is a masterpiece of creative talent, so important that even a Grammy cannot be without them? Who knows, maybe the Grammy award is not always an honest representation of the best records? This is no way to make a decision about an artist, a song, or a musical.
No artist, singer, composer, or musician should be given much serious consideration if they don'thave at least one hit single that is in the Billboard Hot 100. In fact, a solo artist that makes their own hits that reach the top twenty should probably get more consideration than a band or group that has been nominated a few times.
Without fan support, a musician has little chance of being able to make a living by themselves, so why give them so much precious time and energy to go through the grueling process of choosing the next album? How do you know that you are truly being fair to the people you are judging?
The easiest things to do are to determine who the best artists are and the worst are to choose those with the most hits. Is this fair to every musical genre? Who will be able to live in this new world where everyone gets the same prizes?
How much energy does it take to try to figure out who is the new thing, the next to top artist? You can't look at the world through rose colored glasses and expect everyone to live happily ever after. Who else is going to work hard to try to stay in business, without being compensated for their time and effort?
Who is going to provide the future potential for many up and coming artists? They are all sitting back in their mansions, because they get paid a living wage and it is easier to buy an hour of fame with fifty cents. Is that fair?
In the new age of Grammy, I think it is fair to those who are trying to create a career. The unfairness of the system has gone on too long, and the time has come to change. Please consider all this and think on it.
