Which Witch is Wicked?

Updated on January 13, 2016

After today, my new favourite colour has got to be green. Not the olive kind, not the grass kind, the Wicked kind!

One of the most popular musicals showing in London's West End has definitely got to be Wicked! The cast not only have superb acting skills which work in melding together an amazingly magical tale, but the singing, aesthetics and atmosphere will completely blow you away. Stephen Schwartz has proved himself to be an outstanding member of the creative team whose lyrics will be stuck in your head for weeks after your viewing.

The twist in the tale comes with the contrasting characters of Elphaba and Glinda, both of whom are nothing like you would originally think if you have watched or read all previous versions of Oz adventures. Their personalities are made real by the brilliant skills of Emma Hatton and Savanah Stevenson who take on the quirks of the characters with ease to create an entertaining performance that will have you both laughing and crying from start to finish.

The only pitfall would be in the set and production which feels slightly passé, however, after twelve brilliant years in production, it is holding up well and everything else more than delivers.
