The Raven and Tommy Dreamer feud began in summer camp when they attended as children. Raven became the boyfriend of Beulah McGillicutty after Tommy Dreamer rejected her for being overweight with acne. Stevie Richards tracked her down and brought her into ECW, angering Raven. This set the beginning of an intense feud between Raven and Tommy Dreamer in ECW.

The mood set for the dialogue was deep, twisted, dark, emotional, at times humorous, philosophical, and violently intense. What i loved most was that Raven and Tommy Dreamer gradually revealed their backgrounds in their feud. The original setting of where it all began created the gloomy mood which would enhance the emotions expressed through the promos. Examples include the playground Raven and Tommy Dreamer used as children and later, the summer camp they went to. As for the Script, Raven took his time in delivering a promo and using every minute to poetically expound on why Tommy Dreamer deserved the hate that he did. He also gained sympathy from the audience by expounding on his childhood trauma. Tommy Dreamer on the other hand addresses Raven in his promos but more importantly, expresses himself by attempting to take away what Raven has. Both expressed their anger towards each other with their glaring and almost snarling facial expressions as they faced with the camera. Raven and Tommy Dreamer mostly expressed much of their hatred for each other in their brutal matches by using all sorts of weapons along with fighting almost everywhere in the ECW arena.

Each character only uses the amount of energy needed for a promo or match. For example, when it came time for Raven and Tommy Dreamer's first match, Raven attacked Tommy Dreamer before the bell even rang demonstrating his anger towards him. Raven widens his eyes, raises his voice, shouts expletives, and does his crucifixion pose to enhance the intensity of his promos. There was also a level of grand disrespect expressed through actions. For example, Tommy Dreamer would often piledrive Beulah to anger Raven even further. Beulah also did a phenomenal job in mocking certain characters at different points of the story with her smile and choice of words. Stevie Richards was also a contribution to the story as Raven's goofy sidekick aiding him in matches and defending him in the face of serious accusations.

This is one of the most emotional and best feuds in the history of ECW. Raven shows deep contempt for Tommy Dreamer holding all the anger, grudges, and emotional trauma within. He reveals Tommy Dreamer's faults over his childhood abuse. They went from being childhood rivals in a schoolyard to pro-wrestling rivals outside of the ring as men and this is what makes the feud so great. Raven is not a hero or a villain. He is a traumatized individual seeking revenge for the things he suffered. Tommy Dreamer is no hero or foe either. He is only there to triumph over Raven as the superior pro-wrestler and person in every aspect.
