You Again, movie review
You Again
2010, **, PG-13
Starring: Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristen Bell, Victor Garber, and Betty White
“You Again,” is a comedy about high school rivals, or your high school “arch nemesis.” It shows 3 generations of these rivals in this movie, focusing on one in particular, Marni aka MOO (played by Kristen Bell TV “Veronica Mars,” “Pulse”) realizes that her brother is marrying the girl that destroyed her life in high school, and made her feel like a freak.
After finally becoming a non-loser in life and recently getting promoted at her advertising firm job in LA, she goes home to spend time with her brother, and rest of family, mom (Curtis), dad (Garber) brother, and little bro, she soon finds out things aren’t going to be so cheery for the few days she’s home; which were supposed to be a fun, and exciting time for her brother and the rest of the family.
Soon, it becomes war, and soon, her mother realizes the brothers fiances, aunt is also a nemesis from her high school days as well. It just doesn’t get any better.
The storyline is good, but sometimes it gets a tad boring. I think the best scenes are the dance studio scene – Sigourney Weaver and Jamie Lee Curtis trying to compete with their dance moves – quit hilarious! And then there are a few of the flash backs of (Bell’s) high school days, which are made to be funny, yet, painful.
This is a one-time watch flick.
