Hallmark's A Boyfriend For Christmas Movie Review
A Boyfriend For Christmas
Another great Hallmark Entertainment film, I quite enjoyed A Boyfriend for Christmas. My teenage males groaned when they saw this film in my hand so naturally I was not able to watch it when they were around. Therefore, I popped it in the DVD player early one morning when no one was moving yet and I was feeling a little bit under the weather.
I wasn't sure what to expect from a movie called "A Boyfriend For Christmas." However, it turned out to be quite an enjoyable film, a light-hearted romantic comedy in which wishes really do come true. I particularly loved the family scenes, and you will too. This film definitely hit all the emotions. I laughed and I cried. I cannot remember another film where the male hero actually sheds a tear or two...
A Boyfriend for Christmas is a made-for-television production that originally aired in 2004 on the Hallmark channel and is now available on DVD for your Christmas movie collection. It is perfect for anyone looking for a romantic comedy or a chick flick at Christmastime.
Some Wishes Do Come True
Official Movie Description of A Boyfriend for Christmas - From Amazon.
"In A Boyfriend for Christmas, Kelli Williams (The Practice) is Holly Grant, an idealistic lawyer who gave up on finding Mr. Right in her stocking when she split with her last boyfriend. Oscar nominee Charles Durning (To Be or Not to Be) plays Santa, who fulfills an old promise by bringing her and another attorney, Ryan Hughes (Patrick Muldoon), together. Due to an earlier misunderstanding, Ryan doesn't want Holly to know who he is, so when Santa sends him to deliver a Christmas tree, he introduces himself as "Douglas Firewood." His well-meaning white lie threatens to derail a budding romance, and spoil Santa's plan, in this warm-hearted holiday treat." ~~ Amazon

"Charles Durning is fantastic as Santa. Holly Grant and Doug Firwood make such a cute couple. It's a great "feel good" light-hearted romance and Christmas story and worth watching over and over again. If I tell you any more, I would have to tell the story." ~~ Kathy W
"The story begins with a teenage girl who comforts a little girl who is afraid to tell Santa what she wants. The little girl has a brother who sees the girl help his sister. Santa tells her to make a wish because she helped someone else. She receives a mysterious snowglobe on Christmas Day. Move forward several years...The teenage girl now offers assistance to poor women. The teenage boy is now an attorney with a high profile firm and he is the public defender for one of those women. Needless to say, Santa wants the two of them together. A very tasteful and romantic movie." ~~ Kyra Athena
"This is a wonderful movie for the whole family. It is one we will enjoy for years to come. I collect Christmas movies and this is one of our favorites." ~~ S Love
"I watched this movie several times on a local channel during the Christmas season and fell in love with it. Yes, it can be described as a chick flick and since there are many of us who enjoy these types of films, I recommend this one. The acting is very natural and the family get togethers are lively and entertaining. The love story is interesting to watch as it builds. There are many humorous lines as well as serious ones to catch your attention. Wouldn't it be great if they made a sequel to this one." ~~ Judith A. Frederick
"I had never seen this movie, I just ordered it to go with some other things I was ordering. [Silly me] Anyway out of the 3 this one's the best. Very handsome leading man. Sweet and funny story line, and a happy ending, what else could you want? Oh yeah, and It's clean, no bad language, no sex etc... the kids can watch it as well. Loved it, I agree with the librarian, great chic flick." ~~ D Roberts
