A Walk in the Clouds: A Movie for Couples to Watch, and Talk About

Have you ever been given something and not known who it was from? There was no note attached or even wrapped. Just left in your mailbox. This was such a gift for my wife and I. We were newly married so this means it was on VHS as DVD was not out yet. Neither of us knew anything about the movie accept for a few of the actors. The movie is rated PG-13 so it was one that I would be willing to watch.

Before I go too much further into this let me give you a little break down of some of the main characters:

Paul Sutton - Keanu Reeves - The former soldire and now chocolate salesmen.

Victoria Aragon - Aitana Sanchez-Gijon - The college student returning from school with a secret she does not want to share.

Anthony Quinn - Don Pedro Aragon - The grandfather, piece keeper and cupid's helper in disguise.

Giancarlo Giannihi - Alberto Aragon - Dad and the one in charge of the vineyard.

Watching the movie together:

That evening we popped the corn and sat down to watch our new movie. It was interesting to watch as one man was willing to stand up for another. Someone he had never met before and most likely would never see again. How many times have you done the same thing? Just a thought. However in this case one random meeting was all that was needed. The two met again and the main character played by Keanu Reeves was willing to stay and help the young lady with her family. You see she was pregnant and her family would not approve if there was not a husband involved. Through the rest of the move a friendship is born. Not just with the two main charactors but with the family. Slowly they accept him. And then just as quickly reject him when they learn the truth. That he is just playing a part so that their daughter will feel accepted. It is at this point that the he knows where he belongs and what he must do. At this point I will now leave you hanging. For you see most people do not want the end of a movie given away. But trust me this is one worth watching to find out what Paul Sutton is willing to go through to be with what he learns is his true love.

Sharing the movie with friends. This is a great movie to share with others. Someone shared it with us and we in turn have done the same. In our case we invited another couple over and had a movie night without any kids. There was popcorn and soda, coffee and tea. And don't forget the homemade cookies. After many years I haven't. After the move we had a little discussion about the movie. What did it mean to you? What did you think about their relationship throughout the film. In fact there was one scene that I knew that they were uncomfortable with and I just said wait for a few minutes to see what happens. And true to form Paul Sutton backs away as he is still a married man.

What is my favorite part of the movie? To answer this you would need to be asleep. The reason being is there are short dream sequences that run randomly through this film. These take the main character "Paul Sutton" From war back to a normal life. In fact they help him to realize where he should be and who he should be with. Sorry I was unable to find any clips on this one.
