The Boys and Girls are Doing It ~ Performed by Vital Signs

Ooh yeah!

Street mean tough and sweet boogie woogie shuffle,
Somebody somewhere’s jumping into trouble;
Now things come alive all over town,
It happens every night when the sun goes down.

We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.

Torn outta passion with a passion to survive,
Can’t stop believing, it’s staying alive.
Susie told her mama and her mama told her dad,
They looked in the book and the book said "bad".

We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.

Do you wonder,
Do you wonder what they’re doin’?
Everything you think they are
And what they’re just inventing.
Everything they need to do
And cannot do without.
Everything everybody does,
You know what I’m talking about.

We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know there’s somebody disapproving it.
We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Doing it!

Torn outta passion with a passion to survive,
Can’t stop believing, it’s staying alive.
Gloss on the lipstick shining like a fire,
Out on the highway, back seat of a car.

We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know there’s somebody disapproving it.
We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Yeah, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Well, we all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Well, we all know there’s somebody disapproving it.
We all know the boys and the girls are doing it.
Doing it! Doing it!

Not So Far Away ~ Performed by Glen Burtnick

Hey!

You might feel like a stranger,
You’ve been lost in a strange land.
You might be on a distant shore,
Don’t know what they’re having planned.
You might feel you’re a million miles,
In nothing you can be sure.
You might feel you don’t have a prayer,
When the signal it comes in clear,
That you’re not so far, you’re not so far away.

You might feel you’re in danger,
Hope you don’t fade away.
Sometimes you try to reach so high,
You think that your back might break.
The signal’s out, someone’s in doubt,
When something inside you says,
That you’re not so far, you’re not so far away.
No, you’re not so far, you’re not so far away.

Lay it in those hands,
You might not know where you stand.
You walk that line, will somebody tell ya,
This is where it starts and ends?
When history repeats itself,
They’ll sell you their worn out plan,

When you’re not so far, you’re not so far away.
No, you’re not so far, you’re not so far away,
A million miles, not so far away.
Maybe you’re not so far away.
You’re not so far, you’re not so far away,
Not so far.

Best known as a former member of the rock band Styx, Glen Burtnik has also performed in several Broadway productions. Having released several solo albums in addition to his work with Styx, he also hosted a radio show and organized the annual Glen Burtnik's Xmas Xtravaganza.

Dancing With a Gypsy ~ Performed by Tora Tora

Oh, not since when we met,
Our first time I will never forget.
Oh, since the things you put me through,
I’m was so sublime in love with you.
Oh, since you took my surprise,
Gonna have you, have you baby, but now I realize . . .

Well, it’s no mystery,
The things you do to me, oh oh,
You won’t set me free.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.

Yes, you’ve got that spark in your eye,
Such a lucky charm to have on my side.
Yeah, since you make your presence known,
I better be a’get away before too long.
Yeah, since you fill me with these lies,
Tell me all those lies, in you I’d have denial.

Well, it’s no mystery,
The things you do to me, oh oh,
You won’t set me free.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.

Well, it’s no mystery,
The things you do to me, oh oh,
You won’t set me free.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.

Oh, coming through the winds tonight,
Show me the mirrored reflection, make me die of fright.
Faster, oh faster, I’m under your spell,
I finally feel I get away but only time will tell.
Yeah, except there’s nowhere left to run,
Sittin’ on top of the world, but I’m having fun.

Well, it’s no mystery,
The things you do to me, oh oh,
You won’t set me free.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.
I go dancin’, dancing with a gypsy.

Father Time

Performed by Shark Island

It’s a holiday, a modern day,

A day to change your life, make it new and bright.

Business bound by people all around,

Bring him down like the rain, tie him down, ball and chain.

Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that’s out of place, yeah.

Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.

It’s a broken toy that he’s cherished all his life,

And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.

It’s a windin’ road, a heavy load,

A home away from home, a place to roam;

It’s a fractured rain of consequences, host another life.

It’s a different point of view when the old man points at you and says what to do.

Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that’s out of place, yeah.

Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.

It’s a broken toy that he’s cherished all his life,

And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.

With the help of Father Time.

Hogtie him on the railroad line, waste-case that’s out of place, yeah.

Hear the church bell chime in the middle of your mind.

It’s a broken toy that he’s cherished all his life,

And built this shrine with the help of Father Time.

With the help of Father Time.

With the help of Father Time.

Shark Island

Wildly popular in the LA club scene during the 1980s, Shark Island released three albums before disbanding. I Can't Break Away

Performed by Big Pig

All my life I wanted to fly,

Like the birds that you see way up in the sky;

Making circles in the morning sun,

Flying high in the sky ‘til the day is done.

I can’t break away.

Like a child in his fantasy,

Punching holes in the walls of reality;

All my life I wanted to fly,

But I don’t have the wings, and I wonder why,

I can’t break away.

I can’t break away.

Whoa, well Mama told me when I was young,

Stand tall, girl, you’re number one.

She said, you can be what you wanna be,

But you can’t change the course of your destiny.

I can’t break away.

No, no, no, no, no, I can’t break away.

Yeah, I said, I said, woo hoo,

One is one and two is two.

You want me and I have you.

Black is black and white is white,

Just come out in the middle ‘tween day and night.

I can’t break away.

No, no, no, no, no, I can’t break away.

Well, yeah, yeah, yeah-hey-hey!

Well, Mama told me when I was young,

Stand tall, girl, you’re number one.

She said, you can be what you wanna be,

But you can’t change the course of your destiny.

I can’t break away.

No, no, no, no, no, I can’t break away.

Well, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t break away.

No, no, no, no, no, I can’t break away.

Woo ooh hoo hoo hoo, I can’t break away.

Big Pig

Big Pig released a self-titled EP, along with the albums Bonk and You Lucky People before disbanding in the early 1990s.

Breakaway can be heard over the opening credits, as the time-traveling phone booth descends into the chamber.

Dangerous

Performed by Shark Island

Have you seen my girl? She's the sparkle of the beach.

You'd knew it if you would, she's a lesson she could teach.

She shook me up, now her love is gone.

Yeah, she reeled me in then she wrote a Dear John that said,

Ooh, you're desperate.

Girl, I'm down and out.

Blue. Why pull the run on me?

Why pull the run on, why pull the run on me?

Dangerous,

Dangerous, yeah, she's what I need now.

Dangerous, know what I'm talking about friends?

Dangerous, she's hungry!

Well, I'm stalling, know what I'm talking about?

I turned my pumper loose on her love without a doubt.

I played for keeps, I got blown away,

Gave her friend a message what I had to say,

I said,

Ooh, you're desperate.

Girl, I'm down and out.

Blue. Why pull the run on me?

Why pull the run on, why pull the run on me?

Dangerous,

Dangerous, ooh yeah, she's what I need now.

Dangerous, know what I'm talking about friends?

Dangerous, she's hungry!

Ooh, you're desperate,

Girl, I'm down and out,

Blue. Why pull the run on me?

Why pull the run on, why pull the run on me?

Dangerous,

Dangerous, yeah, she's what I need now.

Dangerous, know what I'm talking about friends.

Dangerous, she's hungry.

She's . . .

Dangerous, ooh, one in a million.

Dangerous, ooh, she's what I need now.

Dangerous, yeah, she's what I need now.

Dangerous.

Dangerous, ooh, one in a million.

Dangerous, ooh, one in a million.

Walk Away

Performed by Bricklin

In my life, in this restless life,

So many wasted dreams,

They all leave me tired now.

All of my friends,

All of my friends’ familiar faces I don’t have now.

Seems so far away.

Do they remember me?

‘Cause I’m still around this town.

Where are they now?

We swore we’d all come back for each other

Well, I still hear them now.

Ah, the rain daily washes down,

There’s no one around.

I should have known they wouldn’t come back now.

But I won’t walk away.

While the rain is falling down.

‘Cause it’s my life,

I can’t turn back now.

All I got left is time,

I’ll just live it out for now.

Wondering why why why,

Why I’ve been waiting here for a lifetime.

Well, I still hear them now.

Ah, the rain daily washes down,

There’s no one around.

I should have known they wouldn’t come back now.

But I won’t walk away.

Ah, the rain daily washes down (down down).

No, I won’t walk away.

I should have known they wouldn’t come back down.

The rain is falling down,

Down on the empty streets,

Oh, where we used to meet,

There’s nobody down there now.

Where are my friends?

We swore we’d all come back for each other.

Well, I hear them now.

Ah, the rain daily washes down,

There’s no one around.

I should have known they wouldn’t come back now.

But I won’t walk away.

Ah, the rain daily washes down (down down),

No, I won’t walk away.

While the rain is falling down.

No, I’m not gonna walk away.

Ah, the rain daily washes down,

There’s no one around.

I should have known they wouldn’t come back now.

No, not gonna walk away.

In Time

Performed by Robbie Robb

No fear, no loss, no tears

The time is almost here

Our dreams will all come true, I promise you

‘Cause I can see for miles and miles

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night)

In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right)

It’ll take time but we’re going far

You and me, yes I know we are

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night

All night

One heart, one soul, one mind

Our eyes will not be blind

We’ll see this rain come down without this sound

We can all, we can all break free

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night)

In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right)

It’ll take time but we’re going far

You and me, yes I know we are

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

In time...

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night (all night, all night)

In time, yes, everything will be all right (all right, all right)

It’ll take time but we’re going far

You and me, yes I know we are

In time we’ll be dancing in the streets all night

All night, we’ll be dancing

We’ll be dancing, we’ll be dancing

All night...

We’ll be dancing in the streets all night

Dancing...

In time, we’ll be dancing... all night

We’ll be dancing in the streets all night

Two Heads Are Better Than One

Performed by Power Tool

Yeah! Whoa!

Well, I remember the sparks that flew

In the summer of ‘79

My brother went wild for a pretty girl’s smile

But he didn’t care that she was mine.

We fought each other like never before

And beat ‘til we were black and blue

And when we told her it was time, she’d made up her mind

She said, "I’ve had it with the both of you!"

That was when the pact was made

That no woman could sever

We swore it brother for the rest of our lives

We would stick together forever ‘cause

Two heads are better than one

It’s double the pleasure, baby, triple the fun

I said two heads are better than one

It’ll make you come undone

Two heads are better than one

Well, we found ourselves in Vegas, the city of sin

We were restless and looking to play

When this little blonde dolly in the hotel lobby

Blew a kiss as she walked our way

She said, "I’m feelin’ kind of lonely," and gave us a wink

Feeling bold we expressed our intentions

We said, "you gotta have both,"

She said, "That’s a joke!

It takes two just to get my attention!"

Both to share and share alike

That’s a part of our lifestyle

So I’m gonna tell you, baby, just where we stand

If you won’t love us both

It ain’t worthwhile because

Two heads are better than one

It’s double the pleasure, triple the fun

I said two heads are better than one

It’ll make you come undone

Two heads are better than one

We’ve come this far together

It’s too late for turning back

But it’s only fair to warn you

That when you rock with the boys

You never go back! (Oh no!)

Two heads are better than one

It’s double the pleasure, triple the fun

I tell ya two heads are better than one

It’ll make you come undone

Nothing’s better than

Two heads are better than one

It’s double the pleasure, baby, triple the fun

Two heads are better than one

It’ll make you come undone

Two heads are better than one

Two heads are better than one

Two heads are better than one

Whoa-whoa-whoa, baby!

Two heads are better than one

Two heads are better than one

Woo-hoo-hoo!

Power Tool
