Well known golf legend and rated the most successful golfer of all time, Tiger Woods has also made a few mistakes. He was the highest paid athlete in the world for many years and was formerly the number one.
Woods turned professional in 1996 and has broken numerous records. He had consecutive wins and later had to cancel the rest of his tour due to a knee injury in 2008. He returned in 2009 but did not win and news of his infidelities came to light where he made a public apology for his behaviour and stated that he would be retiring from golf indefinitely.
In 2009 a tabloid newspaper printed a story of Tiger having an affair with a nightclub manager which both he and she denied. Two days later at around 2:30am he left his home and while driving collided with a fire hydrant and a tree where he was treated for minor lacerations.
This followed media speculation as to why it happened and Tiger reported that it was his own doings and it was part of a private family matter and that he would appreciate privacy.
In December that same year a news tabloid released a voice message of Woods speaking to his mistress. He made a public apology and asked for privacy so that he and his family could get through the events. Over the next few weeks a dozen women came forward admitting to having relations with the golfer and he again apologised and announced his retirement from golf.
Over 200 women came forward and he and his wife divorced and Tiger is now back into the "swing" of things with his golf career in place.
