Duffy

Duffy is a singing sensation who hit the music world in 2008 when she released her first album 'Rockferry'. I first heard her music on the French radio channel 'NRJ', pronounced Energy. I wrote about this on my blog Music For Me where I explained that despite the exposure the channel gave her, and when I say exposure I mean over exposure, I still loved her track 'Mercy' which was really the first record I heard from Duffy.

NRJ tend to have rather a limited number of records available to give air time to, for whatever reason, so Duffy's 'Mercy' got played around every hour or so for weeks on end. NRJ have some great music on their show, but because everything gets repeated so often it can mean you get fed up of listening to the tracks they play. Not the case with Duffy however, I actually found myself looking forward to the next playing of Mercy and was on the Internet buying her album Rockferry as soon as I could. Have to say I was not disappointed and her album still gets regular air time in our house. NRJ on the other hand as been relegated to occasional listening and has now been replaced, by me anyway, with RFM; another French radio show of a similar vein but with a little more diversity of tracks.

Also threw in 'I'm Going to Rain on Your Parade' which is another favourite.

The new album from Duffy, Endlessly is now available and the first single released from the album is 'Well, Well, Well' A great start to her long awaited second album, which will no doubt have the same success as her first album if the first single is anything to go by.
