Eric Gable ~ In the Morning

Updated on August 17, 2025

Eric Gable is the R&B/Gospel and Inspirational singer who is admittedly blessed to have launched his music career in an era that he describes as the golden age of R&B music where songs were written and produced to stand the test of time.

Perhaps best known for his hit single ‘Remember (The First Time)’ off of his ‘Caught In The Act’ LP, the track went to Number 1 on the R&B Billboard chart in 1989 and cemented his place in R&B Music that still resonates with music lovers today.

Born in New Orleans in the late 60’s, Gable hails from a city rich in music culture, and after taking some time away from an industry that can be harsh on artists as labels constantly move quickly turning to new artists to promote, he is back now with a new single ‘In The Morning’ that he wrote to inspire people.

Gable says, “I didn’t focus on what didn’t happen but on what's going to happen next,” he explains on how he knew it was time to return, “the industry can be very brutal and unforgiving, but you have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off and keep it moving. Having hit records that stand the test of time and knowing who I am and just supremely believing in myself always.”

This is a refreshing sentiment and philosophy as we navigate through a year that has challenged us on every level of our lives. And as we approach the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina that impacted Gable’s birthplace of New Orleans, he is hopeful his new single lifts our spirits in this unprecedented era of human history with extreme weather patterns and global warming, wars in countries causing genocide and famine, and an uncertain global economy for our next generations to inherit.

“It is my hope and prayer that people will hear this song and believe that all things are possible when you commit your ways and gifts towards God,” says Gable. “Songs of praise and worship will always have a place in this industry and the world. Making music that inspires people and that also brings people together will NEVER go out of style!!”

I was blessed to create [songs] in an era when music was made to be timeless,”

— Eric

Gable’s music career spans an era when songs were crafted to stand the test of time, and his commitment to timeless, inspiring work continues today. Beyond his R&B legacy, he now focuses on creating gospel and inspirational music that unites and uplifts listeners. Gable firmly believes in the power of faith and that one’s gift will make room and bring opportunities to glorify God.

With new projects underway, Gable is set to redefine how gospel music touches lives, proving that meaningful music will never go out of style.

“The Love of being blessed and able to share my unique gift with the universe! There is a Proverb that states: ‘Your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men’! I believe that!,” Gable exclaims.

Aside from “In The Morning,” Gable is working on putting together a complete musical production that he declares “is going to change the way gospel or inspirational music is listened to! To God Be The Glory.”

“It is my hope and prayer that people will hear ‘In The Morning’ and believe that all things are possible when you commit your ways and gifts towards God,”
