Are the arts progressing as fast as you think they could?
Just in general, or is the industry slowing things down?
The arts have been evolving ever since mankind discovered that a dirty hand made a mark on a light surface, or chipping flint, sometimes, made pleasing patterns. Art progresses at its own pace.
I'm talking more about the way the industry controls what the publuc at large is exposed to. As well as the countless artists who are not pursuing their dreams due to a wart or a crocked smile.
Actually I think there has been some deterioration in the industry in terms of ideas and quality. Technology has improved many aspects of the industry. Movies have more special effects and music has more venues to which to be heard, thanks to the internet. They are progressing in some ways, but as far as quality goes, due in part to the reliance on technology, it has gotten worse. I really miss some of the classics. Also in the past the writing was better. Of course this is only my humble opinion.
