I really like the weekend programming more than the weekday stuff. I like This American Life with Ira Glass. Each week this show puts on a program that examines a theme and then gives two or three stories centered around that theme. It's very entertaining.
There's a show that comes on 11 PM Sundays where I am called Joe Frank. This is a mixed format show. I believe the host is either a poet and/or spoken word artist. There's music, skits, wacky dialogues, monologues, etc.
I also like something called The Moth Radio Hour, where apparently ordinary people tell mostly funny stories, but sometimes sad, about episodes in their lives on stage.
This American Life and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. And I know the original question is from years ago but I also love the podcasts that have been released thanks to programs like This American Life, such as Serial and S-Town
