When I First Started Publishing On-Line

When I first started building my on-line presence, as @Lillygrillzit, I was seeking employment, but the economy was tanked. After checking in with the temp agency, and paper for any work, I would start my mornings by Tweeting. A new Tweeter, I knew enough that some Tweets and Tweeters are X rated, or extremely artistic. So, I searched in Twitter for organizations and businesses that I could stand behind, or even love, then tweet my limits.

Not getting out much, I called this Twittercise. During these calisthenics a particular Tweet caught my eye.

The Tweet was from @ucta, said "some fun during the break, automatically generate your own warning labels."

This sounded interesting, so I clicked on their link to check it out. Needless to say, it was like a new toy, and in total have spent hours hundreds of hours generating my own tombstones, street signs and warning labels.

As I was giggling and carrying on, [It is FUN] I realized this can be used for more than a few laughs, it is an ingenious format for business use and design ingenuity.

When it comes to fun I think that we must often generate our own fun, and once we do, fun and humor have a funny way of regenerating it themselves (with our help). The more people who are involved in fun-making, are involved, the more of a good thing is generated.

Here is hoping that the creators of these cool applications will benefit, as well as all of the fun-havers. Enjoy, these will be a big hit on Facebook and other social network sites.

Fun, fun, fun. Show us your Sign!

The longer I have played with Tombstone Generator, Street Sign Generator, Warning Label Generator and Warning Sign Generator the more ideas for use I have come up with.

  • An avatar for Twitter
  • Facebook funnies
  • Pins for Pinterest.
  • Writers' Prompts
  • Idea Generation
  • Creativity Station

As long as the imagination is not limited, the ways these can be used are limitless.

It has been four years since I first used the Street Sign, Tombstone, and Sign Generator, and the fun never stops. Come on...Show us your sign!

Tweeting Builds Presence

In 2010, I spent each morning I would head to Twitter.com and do what I referred to as my Twittercise. I would do my workout of re-tweeting, shouting out, and following until I reached my daily limit. Then I would come on over to HubPages to read and write, HubHop (classic), shout-out and follow.

If it is your desire to create a @brand or #tag remember to keep aiming toward being known as a high content internet publisher. It is important to have a strong on-line presence if you want people to pay attention to you when you tweet, like, post or review something. Media prowess, does not come from falling off of a wagon, unless it is a Kardashian wagon.

There are ways to get attention. Some of it does not leave a long-term positive effect. The way I got known was by doing kindness, and advocating for what I agree with, and like. Then...

Slip in one of my Hubs, or articles, or photographs - Be like, "hey...retweet pretty please." And slowly, tweet by tweet, smile by smile, favorite by favorite, I became a familiar but useful pest. So, @Lillygrillzit was born, and survived infancy.

When you participate, be fair, promoting others as well as your self. You will find that generally the Twitter Community is a giving community, they will give back as well as you give. If you stay away for any amount of time, don't take it personally that no one is looking for you, or realizes you were gone. Twitter is an ocean of letter characters, being pushed and twirled by the inspiration, passion and greed of civilization.

In Napoleon Hill's book, "Think and Grow Rich", the philosophy is that if you give more than you get, you cannot help but prosper. This is a truism that has been proven time and again. Prosper doesn't always mean money, it can be things just go right for a while.

Creative Bump - Use Sign Generator to

"Lilly walked quietly through the graveyard. It was still light out, but that did not dismiss the eerie feeling that stayed with her no matter how many times she assured herself she was alone. Each tombstone she passed showed that the inhabitant of each grave had lived over 200 years. Why did the graves look so fresh. After all of this time, who was tending the graves?..... "

A Prompt for Creativity

When creating a place of danger and intrigue consider how much easier or more delightful it will be to create your own labels for whatever is going into the 55 gallon barrels.

"He happened upon the barrels by accident. He was at Jymaa's Burgers, responding to a triggered alarm. The skull and crossbone stickers labeling the barrels made chills run up and down Kyle Hottinger's back. What was going on in this seemingly simple burger joint?...."

What is transpiring in your story?

Writers Prompt

"(your character) turns down a block, looks quickly both ways. He/she heads into the industrial side of the road, edging away from town. Not finding footprints, or signs of their play, he had no clues as to where the missing dogs could have gone..."

It is inspirational to have your own signs. Build an entire industrial complex around one or two warning signs.
