Goodbye Earl

Now this song has a catchy tune and a story to tell. It's about a relationship gone bad. Earl wasn't nice to Wanda . There are many relationships out there that way which is sad. How many get revenge though on the other.

There was a Earl....

I've had some not so good relationships before so I understand. In fact, there was a Earl! Not quite in the same way as what the song portrays but he was an Earl alright! I knew him when we were kids but didn't go to High School with him like in the song. Of course later in years we got together and got married. What a surprise to many ears! All was good in the beginning then it became rocky. The marriage went sour. Now mind you Earl could frustrate anybody! We divorced.

Bumper Sticker Story

Then I heard this song Goodbye Earl. I'd giggle every time I heard it. It fast became a favorite and I'd turn up the radio every time. I loved the tune plus it was about Earl. One day while online shopping I came across this bumper sticker that said Earl's In The Trunk. I knew I had to get that, so I did. I put it on my trunk when it came and drove around town. Everyone got a kick out of it. Then the cops of the town I lived in would follow me when they saw that sticker. Seriously like I would actually put Earl in the trunk but it was quite an attracting statement. I did, however, give Earl a ride one day. Sure enough the cops pulled in behind my car. We got quite the laugh. He was a trouble maker and a nuisance so I guess revenge might have been possible. I think the cops were looking out for me or maybe not since they seen him in the car. The bumper sticker came off later with a frown. It was fun while it lasted. It seemed to calm everyone else down. I still think about that whenever I hear Goodbye Earl!

Years Later

Its been quite a few years since that all happened but today we are friends; we share a son. Time heals for some but not for others. My heart goes out to those who are physically abused and in a bad relationship or marriage. For them lets say goodbye to those kind of Earls!
